He pretends to be nice when the parents are there and once the parents leave he is a bully to the children. He calls them names and makes fun of them, he talks down to his wife in front of the children which sets a horrible example. My kid will no longer be going here and I encourage other parents who take there children here to turn around and run.

Around the time where my son was going to the summer camp my son would tell me how Mr. Choi was disrespectful to his wife and talk down to her in front of the children. Also as part of his "disciplinary technique" he would make fun of children And put them down in front of the whole class to try to teach that particular kid a lesson. I have been doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Renzo Gracie Academy for many years, so I know what discipline is, and I wanted a similar experience for my child. But making fun and laughing at a child makes them insecure and is not the way to build confidence! Even after all of this happening my son was still going here. Today was the last straw! My son sees a tutor and he forgot (he is a child so they tend to forget) that he had a class with the tutor at 6pm. He went to the earlier class, so I went to get him and bring him home to see the tutor. I motioned from across the room for my son to get ready because he forgot the tutor and my son went to bow and tell Mr. Choi what was happening. At this point Mr. Choi is ignoring him and my son goes to get ready and leave but Mrs. Choi comes Over and tells my son to make sure Mr. Choi heard him. So this time my son is a bit louder and tells him "I'm sorry Mr.Choi I forgot I had a tutor class today and I have to go". Mr. Choi turns around and screams at the top of his lungs " DO NOT INTERRUPT MY CLASS! " when my son is only a few feet away. At this point as a parent I am fuming and wanted to say a lot to him but there were children around so I just told my son "don't worry, just get your stuff". Funny part is it wasn't even over, then Mrs. Choi comes over and says "You know we have rules here" so I turned around and said "what type of rules? Screaming at a kid for having responsibilities?" And then Mr. Choi came over and started screaming at my kid "you're not a good kid and your family is no good..." and then I stopped him right there. I proceeded to level my self to this man and said "What's your problem we are just leaving, do you want to take it on the mats?". You would think as a black belt he would take the offer, but he whimpered away and proceeded to kick us out like dogs in front of everybody and told my son that he is no longer accepted into this academy. Keep in mind this is all happening while the children and parents were watching. I proceeded to walk out and Mrs. Choi follows me out of the store pestering me, and I had to tell her "back off and I am leaving, why the need to follow me ?" I couldn't believe this happened. My son will no longer be going here and I am deeply in pain for the kids that had no choice but to see this go down when he should have self control and discipline. My son took the trial classes for Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and was hooked. ECMMA has given my son the confidence, mindset, and skills that most people do not even possess. Then, my wife started taking Sparring classes and Kickboxing where fitness and health became her daily routine. Soon, my youngest son and I followed by taking BJJ classes, along with my daughter who took the same classes with her mom. All the instructors/coaches are dedicated in helping every member to achieve their growth and development, and reach their full potential through fitness and confidence, which is priceless. ECMMA is a family oriented gym, yet also produces competitive home grown athletes from surrounding local schools. ECMMA also added 6am BJJ classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Once in a while, ECMMA also invites instructors and athletes from different gyms as guests to give tutorials. The facility has two open mat areas, shower, and a weight room that is located in the basement. If I can start learning BJJ at 43 years old, then everyone can - it's all due to the support and guidance of each instructors. Our family have planted our flag here in ECMMA and we invite everyone to experience the positive vibes and energy, while building a better version of yourself through fitness and health.

My wife grew up in judo and jui jitsu hence, here we go... We tried the first trial class and signed up for our first month today. The 10am class was packed, but very well run with a combination of senseis and advanced students. My boys got a good workout and I definitely saw them learning some very valuable technique at class #2. As their father, of course I love them, but they are distracted (one diagnosed). I noticed one of the senseis (in a black gi) sitting and working nearly exclusively with them both to help them respect and integrate with the class during the entire time. I was actively watching and very impressed by this attention to two new students. My boys told me his name is sensei John and he was very helpful to them both. With the many things parents try for our kids, I'm hopeful this one sticks.
