(poor attempt at rapping lol)...I've been looking to get back into Mauy thai, and when i say mauy thai, I mean traditional mauy thai, the second I walked into Sitan Gym I heard the beautiful sounds of sarama being played in the background, I instantly knew this was it for me, and signed up that day!!! Every time I walk into Sitan I walk into not only a gym, but a place where everyone screams out your name in greeting you, I'm exhausted by just shaking hands and hugging everyone hello before i can even change into my mauy thai gear lol....thats the kinda of love and camaraderie Sitan has for you, whether its your 1st day or your 100th, the coaches and people there treat you with love and respect. Growing up, I flat out HATED sports. I wasn't able to follow directions efficiently because I wasn't interested and I hated being on teams. All I would do was lift weights and run the track by my house but after a while I was looking for a better way to work out and stay in shape. It wasn't until last year in August when I found the amazing Sitan Gym. I LITERALLY fell in love with this place as soon as I met the family of Sitan. Great hardworking people inside and out of the gym. I remember the first day I started I was face down on the mat and could barely complete the warm up! Sitan Gym works you to the bone but better yet, you're training with and against fighters who eat-sleep-breathe Muay Thai and they will show you how to execute the moves and show you the correct techniques so that you get the most powerful strike with every movement. Having never taken any martial arts courses in my life before let alone Muay Thai, I decided to take up their summer 3 month special pricing which included all the necessary equipment. First off, THE PLACE IS CLEAN! it is incredible the amount of work the people of this gym put into it. Everything and everyone was very professional to the point where it felt as if I should've paid more than what they were asking for the services I received. Their adult Muay Thai program is absolutely top notch and overall very professional. Eddie was extremely patient and helped me out each step of the way (I'm not exactly athletic). The gym has a very welcoming atmosphere which I believe is quite rare nowadays. I've since bought a few friends along and they're having quite a blast as well. We brought our 4 children age 11, 9, 7 and 4 during the gym's official opening in March this year, 2013. We found the atmosphere to be friendly, the facility clean and the owners/trainers, Master Aziz Nabih, head coach Eddie Cuello and Mike Gasparki very professionals and yet very down to earth. My children have been training in the kids Muay Thai class since the gym open. During the 8 mths training period, they have learned a lot of techniques under close supervision and guidance from the awesome coach and assistant coaches. We are blessed to have the gym located here in Long Island and not far where we live. To parents who wants their children to learn self defense, I highly recommend Muay Thai martial arts. My girl at the time purchased private lessons for me as a birthday gift. She asked me what school do I want to go to. I remember watching a few amateur fights and there was one gym who's fighters looked way better and more technical than the others...that gym was Sitan (now named Rebel Thai Boxing). After my first lesson with Eddie I knew that was the place for me. I immediately signed up and currently I'm part of the fight team. You don't have to be a fighter to join this gym but you will be trained and pushed like you are one (in a positive and fun way...most of the time lol). My first week everyone from members and staff made me feel like I've been there since the gym first opened. Sitan Gym LI was recommended to me by my coaches at 8 Limbs Academy in Philly when I moved back to NY, and I can definitely see why. The coaches at Sitan are not messing around! Jess and Eddie will make you tough as nails, and they work hard to make sure you have the correct technique and are improving every class. The workouts are really tough and I always leave drenched with sweat, but I also always feel great and accomplished after each class. Jess and Eddie (and often the other folks training with you!) are very encouraging and will make sure you're doing okay regardless of the level of the other people in the class. Hands down the best muay thai gym in long island. With the plethora of MMA gyms popping up these days the authentic muay thai gyms are few and far between. Sitan gym is the beacon for traditional muay that training.. Whether you are a five year old or a 65 year old, if you are looking to stay in shape and get valuable fight and self defense skills this is the place for you. Rebel Muay Thai Smithtown is the real deal. The facility is well-organized, clean, and comfortable. The coaches are incredible. It is obvious that they are proficient with their craft. They are experienced fighters who love Muay Thai. Most importantly, they are phenomenal teachers; patient, informative, and very motivating. The classes provide a workout that are second to none. Sitan Gym Long island is the only true authentic muay thai gym. The trainers there take their teachings straight from Thailand and bring it to long island to pass it down to the students. The instructors are not only helpful, precise, and knowledgeable but they genuinely care about the students and their progression. This gym is excellent! I really can't stress that point enough. For a long while I wanted to join the one in Astoria but put that off just due to the commute. Rewind back to a few months ago I stumbled upon a groupon for this gym in East Meadow and I was SO excited that they had opened up in March. Naturally I purchased the groupon for 10 classes and i'll admit I was a bit intimidated to go so I put it off for a few weeks. Finally after working up the guts to go I went to my first class and I am VERY glad I did. An amazing gym. The muay thai that they teach here is very strong. Eddie, Mike, and Aziz are high level trainers and they push you to the limit. The atmosphere is great and everybody is nice and respectful. As hard as the training can be at times, it is also very fun because of the awesome people who come. Everyone is willing to learn and each person is very humble about his/her skills. There is always something new to learn, whether it be striking, clinching, strength, or strategy. Also, your stamina kinda goes through the roof if you go to Sitan. Started about 3 months ago and I love every minute of it. I never thought I'd see myself doing this. At first, I was very hesitant about it, until I had my first ever class. I went in the ring with Dave where he showed me the true basics. I told him I had zero experience, where he told me it was no big deal and that we would go slow. From than, I quickly signed up. Mike made it easy and I was a member within just a few minutes. I signed up for private sessions with Eddie and my form and technique has gotten so much better. Great people, great coaches, great training. Legit Muay Thai training with experienced coaches on LI. I've been going 3x a week for almost two months, and the workouts have been spectacular. Definitely not your standard boring monotonous "pick things up and put them down" workout, the coaches change it up regularly and provide a great mix of intense workouts and expert technique instruction. I've never field singled out or embarrassed by my skill level - no egos, just training and positive attitudes. I've been taking Muay Thai classes at this gym for about 2 months. With a background in wrestling a little bit of kickboxing, I found the classes to be excellent! Eddie is a great coach that really pushes you to work out hard and you go home knowing that you learned something every time. You will sweat an ungodly amount and the place is prestinely clean.
