The entire teaching staff is encouraging and helpful, so much so that I began teaching there after several years of training. The style of karate is straight forward and direct with little in the way of frills or fancy technique. Equal emphasis is placed on self-defense and competition style fighting. If you want to learn to fight, Sensei Avi is the man to go to, if you want to compete, well he's still the right man to go to. Now the school is also offering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through Soca BJJ. The instructor, Cristian Buitron, is a very dynamic teacher who has competed and medaled internationally at numerous IBJJF competitions.

Considering how many businesses are failing on Long Island due to COVID, you would think serving your community would be number one priority. Clearly some of the employees have forgotten that phone sales are a massive relay.. being attentive, not having an attitude, and clearly engaging with other employees by making faces or mouthing comments or rolling eyes to hear other employees laughing in the background.. this is extremely disappointing and a very poor representation on what an MMA family should embody.
