Hmmm?! It was only when I was heading for a wee bite to eat I saw this lovely looking shop. It was like a ray of light hit me, and I knew as soon as I walked in I would be able to find "something special". The lady was absolutely lovely and a great help. I explained what it was for and she came up with a candle beautifully wrapped with a personalised tag with my friend's name and saying happy 50th. It was perfect! The shop was beautifully laid out with lots of varied gifts for all occasions you can think of. Upstairs I found out was a wee coffee shop, but it was shut the time I got there, it's only opened for a while from 9.30am - 4.30pm. The lady told me they have lots of homemade goodies and their coffee is sourced from Matthew Algie. I will definitely need to stop by for their coffee shop next time. My friend was absolutely delighted with her present, so much so, she asked me where I had got it as she wanted to get something similar for her friend's birthday. Result! I cannot wait to go back, guess who's gonna be trying out a mocha?!

It'd…read morebeen sitting in my bookmarks for a while and yesterday made for the perfect opportunity to finally visit. As the others have said, it's off the main road in Shawlands but it would take less than 2 minutes to walk there, so it's worth a diversion. It's a sweet gift shop with a focus on sewing stuff too - you can learn how to make your own cushion covers, for example. I was in looking for a little housewarming gift and card for a friend and loved having a nosey around while the woman working offered me helpful suggestions and showed me some of the new stuff they had in. They have a big range of stuff; from jams and fudge, to candles, prints, kids clothes/toys, lovely fabrics and cushions, bunting and some jewellery bits and bobs. I liked how it's all presented and easy to find something nice without too much bother - I ended up just grabbing a card (The Grey Earl batboy card) and a wee tote bag as a present which was under a tenner. Definitely pay this shop a visit next time you're in the area!

It's a nice wee shop which sells locally-made crafts and things. Everything from bags and ornaments to candles and jam (including some red pepper and chilli jam which I had to buy). Great place to look for nice crafty gifts for people.

It's such a shame for a small village to have hardly any facilities available to passing trade our group was glad to see this place, that has one side that is used as an antique shop and the other for a tea room. The cafe has not got a hot food licence so can only offer sandwiches and a bowl of soup if you are lucky, we where at least able to get a good cup of tea and something to eat to recharge our batteries. My friend had a sandwich with the only choice available being cheese and tomato, but there is a good selection of home baking on display. The lady that served us was nice and chatty, that made our visit a pleasant experience.

Not only did the owners stay open a little later for us they also allowed us to bring in our wee dog and we were then treated to an assortment of homemade soup, freshly baked cakes and teas and coffees all at a very reasonable price. The two ladies running the shop are just lovely - really friendly and chatty added to the whole experience and you are surrounded by beautiful, ornate vintage homeware and oddities. It's like a step back in time this little gem of a place where your tea is served in beautiful china tea cups and saucers in a homely enviroment. Definitely worth stopping in if you are passing through / in the area.

A huge part of me loves the mystery of something pre-loved. - And the SAAC definitely got this part of me giddy. Seriously. This is legitimately a vintage clothing, music, jewellery, glass, furniture, EVERYTHING shop. The place is HUGE. And they have a cafe and gift shop. You could really lose track of time, and even then, you'd feel like there was more to see. I didn't want to miss anything, and I've already planned my next visit, alongside a list of folks who I know will love it as much as I do. Price-wise, yes, antiques can be expensive business but if you're planning to buy a gift for someone special, then you could most definitely stay within budget. The jewellery section was absolutely stunning with an amazing amount of choice and a variety of prices too. Equally so, if you're looking for something really really special and prepared to spend that bit more, you won't be stuck for choice here. - There are just so many beautiful things I felt free to wander and, whilst staff walked around the centre and CCTV was in operation, it wasn't intrusive and it didn't make me feel uncomfortable. You could visit just for the sake of visiting and make a real day of it, and even go to the cafe afterwards. - Something I've a feeling I'll want to do again and again and again.

Brilliant for a rainy day or for hunting down that prize chesterfield furniture.
