Don't compare flea market to custom. They have hand stitched ties in this shop that will out-live you! They also sell scarves, wallets and purses that can be custom ordered at no extra cost. You want a neon green wallet with a gray interior because the Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl again? Done! Erin is the sweetest and the most helpful in helping me find the right leather jacket. She was so patient. She handed me multiple jackets to try on until I found the right one (more like two!). And she was able to give me a great deal for purchasing both jackets. I loved all the jackets that I've tried on. They're all designed to have great curve lines that hugs your body well. I was able to meet the designer who happened to be in shop that day. She used to design for MaxMara. So she's definitely knowledgeable on what looks great on a woman's body. They are just genuinely nice and aren't pushy. Don't haggle hard here - there's no reason. The craftsmanship of the items are top notch, and the prices are fair. They've had the store since 1983, and Aldo himself started out as a cutter for leather clothing. I myself bought a python bag, but the jackets were beautiful (second floor for ladies' items). The perforated leather jacket I saw on the second floor was similar to the jacket I've seen at Kiton - priced there at $15,000 - and was around 600 Euros at La Pelle. Absolutely elegant sage color and beautiful to touch. Had I been in the market for one, I would have spent much longer here. They will also take the tax off your purchase and give you the duty free form if you purchase with a credit card. I go to Ponte Vecchio (for jewelry, and leather bags, shoes, and small goods) and Santa Croce for all my shopping (for clothes and silver jewelry) in Florence, and for leather bags and jackets, La Pelle is pretty much the only place I recommend. They also have some shoes but a limited selection, and there are other places I recommend for those :)
