But it was soft meat that was easily chewed and the stew sauce was good with the bread. Would have also liked fresher bread. It was crisp and hard, especially considering they charge a 1 euro cover for the bread. Overall, not a bad place. And a good break from all the pasta/pizza we've been having. 10/28/2013 Our…read more"chief experience officer" aka tour guide took us to this wine tasting cellar (or Enoteca = wine shop) for some local Siena wine-tasting. Because we were in the Tuscany region, it was all about "Chianti wines" - and we got to experience this during our tour. Enoteca Italiana is an institution in Siena - from the outside, it looks like a fortress, and inside -- there are various rooms of wines on display (show rooms) downstairs. We were amazed and fascinated by the stories told by our 'wine guide" as he took us through the downstairs cellar. At the end of our wine tour, we were provided with 3 glasses of fine wine to taste and a plate of cheeses/meats to share. It was divine! :) Everyone in our large group was having a splendid time. The service was fantastic, friendly, and accommodating. I'd recommend this place as a must-stop if you are looking for Chianti wine-tasting in the Tuscany region!
