Our 3 kiddos have been going to knowledge Beginnings for the past 5 years. The staff are very friendly and caring. We absolutely love their summer activities. They have activities such as water day, petting zoo, exotic birds and reptile days, foam day, ice cream and popsicle snacks and much more. We are happy with this center and our kiddos will be keep going there and possibly summer camps when they are older. read more

My daughter has been at Tigard Knowledge Beginnings since she was five months old and is about to turn 5. My son has been there since 3 months old and is about to turn 2. They have both had the most caring teachers and absolutely love it. I have always had peace of mind dropping my kids off at Tigard Knowledge Beginnings because they are happy to go and come back with all kinds of stories. As full-time working parents, we could not have the careers we have without this amazing facility. And I want to give an extra shout out to Ms. Suha and Ms. Dani who have taken care of both of my babies with such love!! Also, some of the older reviews are horrible and false. I intentionally chose this facility after touring multiple because it was the cleanest and most colorful one. Although childcare is expensive in general, I wish I could give even more money to these wonderful people who take care of the most important thing in my life. read more

My son has been attending Tigard Knowledge Beginnings for almost two years (starting at 5 months old- age 2). All his teachers have been so caring and wonderful. He loves being at school and learning from them. He's formed amazing connections with them, especially with Ms. Keli and Ms. Samantha. Great meals and snacks are provided for him daily, they have themed developmentally-appropriate units and lessons, and tons of special activities and events, especially during summer. I love getting photos and updates in their app-- it made my initial transition of sending my baby to daycare so much easier and I get to see his happy smiling face all the time while I'm at work. read more

Our daughter started attending Knowledge Beginnings at 6 months old and her teachers Sam and Suha were fantastic. They allowed our daughter to keep her own schedule and were so good at keeping her happy and forming a great bond with her. She's since moved to the Toddler room and is thriving with Sam and Keli. I hardly leave reviews, but after seeing the most recent one- I needed to come and make the reality of this center known. My daughter has been coming here since this last July and she truly has been welcomed as apart of the Knowledge Beginnings family. All of the staff truly care for and about my daughter. As someone who has worked for Kindercare in the past, I was hopeful that the interactions I would have with the staff at this center would positively reflect my time spent with the organization, and the reality has exceeded my hopes!! Any concern I've ever had has been addressed appropriately, directly, and swiftly. The staff go above-and-beyond to ensure that communication is thorough within center in all areas, and I have never felt more confident about the top-tier quality that my child receives on a daily basis from everyone at this center. Our family has been with Tigard Knowledge Beginnings since 2016. Our children have been met with love, care, and individual attention in their classrooms. Our oldest is now thriving in 1st grade, in part due to attending KB. Our whole family has developed special relationships with many teachers and admin over the years and feel heard and valued as a part of the community. I have strong biases and standards after working in childcare for over 10 years and am glad to have found KB for my children. read more

BREASTFEEDING MAMAS BEWARE!! On your tour, the director will tell you they are breastfeeding friendly and will support you in your breastfeeding journey. What she fails to mention is there is little to no knowledge on the staff of how to handle breastmilk. Your bottles will be shaken, your child will be fed directly before you arrive, instead of planning for you to nurse when you get him even though you specifically requested this, and your bottles will be tossed after one hour like formula, even though breastmilk is much more stable. And don't even bother to ask about paced bottle feeding. You will be met with blank stares, they have no clue what this is. And here's the kicker. Your child will not be allowed to have breastmilk after 12 months. This daycare center has the audacity to think they can make the decision for you on appropriate timing to introduce cows milk. And when you ask for the reasoning, after sharing articles on the benefits of extended breastfeeding and the protections provided for breastfeeding parents, you are told by the same director "It is our policy with our company to not have breast milk in the toddler class. We are not saying that you have to stop breastfeeding we just cant have it in that room...The routine in the toddler class is much different than the infant class. Instead of everyone on their own individual schedule the are all on one schedule. They sit at the table for meals together and it can be very easy for another child to grab another child's cup. The children in our toddler programs are over the age of one and are on whole milk." So apparently the exorbitant weekly price you pay will not get you enough supervision to keep sippy cups from getting shared, which is an issue no matter what is in the cup. There are plenty of facilities in the area you can take your child to that will truly support you on your breastfeeding journey. In fairness to the teachers in the infant room, they were lovely individuals that cared for our son and we were sad to leave them when we transitioned care. I do not hold them at all responsible for the lack of training or ignorant policies of this company. UPDATE: The response from the "Community Team" below is a lie. I was not provided options to continue providing breast milk to my son and it was NOT welcomed past 12 months. We pulled our son out of care over this issue and I'm disgusted by the company's response and attempt to gloss over the issue. read more

Both of our sons (18 months and 3 and a half years) attended the Knowledge Beginning in Tigard, OR. This is the best childcare in SW Portland. We visited a lot of childcare before to decide on this one and we never regretted our choice. The director (Larisa Porsova) was excellent and professional. The teachers were all very nice with both of our sons and surely created some special relationship with them very quickly. The tuition is expensive but you pay for what you get. The other institutions were just so sad and not nearly as organized as Knowledge Beginnings. Several times a week, the childcare brought in some artists or jugglers to entertain the kids with a show. The outside of the childcare is nicely layout and kid friendly. Although I personally would have like to see more shadow spots. My main worry was for my 3 and a half to be challenge and learn a lot. The setting in the childcare was perfect to achieve these goals. I would recommend this center to anyone who is willing to make some worthy sacrifice for the good of their kids. read more

Who would ever go off of a Yelp review for choosing a childcare center for their child ? Ridiculous . Visit the center for yourself and you will see what a wonderful place it is for children. This was by far the most beautiful and clean center my husband and I toured . The teachers were all very professional and all of the children seemed happy and well taken care of . For all of those reasons we decided to give it a try for our 1 year old . Our son is now 9 and still attends Knowledge Beginnings in there after school program . I have to agree with Dedra from the previous review. My son first started going to knowledge beginnings when he was four months old, he is now seven and goes to their after school program. As far as turnover goes both my son and daughter had the same teachers pretty much all the way through till my son went to school (they are three years apart). Pretty much the kids my son and daughter started daycare with are still continuing to go. Sure there are parents and kids that leave but from my experience it just wasn't a fit and most leave within a month from starting. But I can honestly say that the majority of the kids/parents love KB, I know we do. read more

Your child will be just a number. And if you like teacher turnover, this is the place to be. This is a larger school, so the teacher-student ratio is higher. The school director, ehhh... Go interview them yourself. There were better schools that were the Same tuition and got better care and attention. read more

I have had my son in daycare with Knowledge Beginnings for 2 years. I love it, I love the staff, the center director politely answers all of my crazy questions and concerns. The building is always nice a clean. The curriculum is wonderful. I love that it prepares kids for school. They have extra programs like phonics and Spanish lessons, which are affordable. My son loves all the teachers and they are so nurturing, especially if he is having a hard day. I would highly recommend this center! read more
