New cupboards fitted and bedroom re decorated Westminster…read more Thank you so much guys..! we recently had our master bedroom redecorated, we've been decided this for years! I git some inspiration from our holiday home in Madrid, I showed The Homeconcepts Project Manager my designs whom I was recommended to by a family friend. I wanted the complete works 4 poster bed and all! Me and my husband lead v busy lives both working in the city so wanted the work done on time and to our agreed budget. The final outcome exceeded our expectations, the before & after pictures speak for themselves. Thanks Homeconcepts team for our wonderful holiday room in Westminster!

We bought the house 5 years ago with plans to start the next day but life got in the way and we ended up having a few years before we got started. We approached a few firms and decided on Homeconcepts almost as soon as our first meeting was concluded. Design, specification, building works and project planning was great. It helped to get regular updates as I didn't always have time to get in. I always felt listened to and any suggestions for the project development were always made within my budget and capabilities. I would definitely go back to Home Concepts for any further work, I don't think it will be for a few years though... we are enjoying the house too much to move again!

After two very cold winters, the thought of another one was too much to bare, something had to be done about our drafty front door. The first hurdle was finding a door that was fitting for the house, despite the age of the house we luckily had a standard sized door so I found one on web and had it delivered. The second was finding someone reliable to fit the door. I did what anyone would do and typed - Carpenter E3 - into Google and I found a site called mybuilder.com. This is were I found E5 Carpentry, which I selected based on their great reviews, location in E5 just down the road and detailed website. I emailed my enquiry and I received a quick reply from Calum, whilst he was on holiday! When he was back I received a very reasonable quote and I booked him in to do the job and he was kind enough to squeeze me in on a Saturday. The day for fitting arrived and it was raining. Rain and untreated doors don't go together. After about 20 minutes of wishing the rain to stop we abandoned for the day. Work resumed on bank holiday Monday and the weather was much better (I felt so bad that they gave up their day off!) Calum and Oscar had the patience of saints. The door frame was a nightmare, in short nothing was straight and as one niggle was solved another appeared straight away! They worked tirelessly throughout the day to get the door weatherproof. They kept the work contained and cleared up as they went along. The door was painted the next morning. I was very cheeky and asked if the door frame could be smartened up too and they managed to squeeze in the extra work for me they next day. I'm so pleased with my new door. It's really made the house feel more ours. I will definitely be keeping Calum's number for future work.

The good price-to-quality point is because they are a small, lean outfit based in South London, so they don't have lots of overheads. We got a Scandi style wardrobe installed by them, and a few months on, very impressed with the finish. So why the four stars? There were a few hiccups during the installation process, which took quite some time to sort out, but they were sorted out in the end. So the final outcome was good, but there was some friction during the purchase and installation process.

To start with just to get a refund for returned goods is frustrating with no clear communication or urgency. A few weeks have passed since we first reached out in an attempt to return some unused and untouched stock - 13 lengths of cornices - following surplus based on the company's own quantity recommendation. However we were informed by Mark (the owner) that this was not possible due to space limitations. After our initial conversation with Mark, we attempted to follow up to see if space had become available and another staff member mentioned the company had multiple storage options but when we raised that point with the owner, we were met with: "Whoever you spoke to does not know what they are talking about" and no solution was offered. Despite our willingness to cover restocking and delivery fees as outlined by the company on our previous return, and even offering to store the items until space became available, we have been met consistently with dismissive responses and repeated avoidance of our requests. There has been zero regard for customer satisfaction, environmental responsibility or basic fairness in how this situation should have been handled. We won't be using them again and wouldn't recommend them to others.

I contacted London Plastercraft again and they sent Andrew out to take a look. Andrew gave further advice but I was feeling less confident about results in the short time I had a available so asked what they could do. Well they couldn't have done more from setting out options (including renew which we decided), helped us select what we wanted, producing it, and, just 8 (Eight) days later, their smart young team installed it so enabling my decorators to maintain schedule.
