With so many people effected by the pandemic, the state of the world, general health, the fires, the economy and wellness as well as the job market I've known/know many people who benefit from organizations like LAFH - who seem to be the most thorough, compassionate and active in Los Angeles. I've been lucky enough to help with on site gardening #greenthumb, homeless connect days, donation kits and even fundraising. I've connected with several staff, employees, security, affiliates and those seeking services and toured the facilities at their home base/main location in North Hollywood on Lankershim Blvd. I learn something new every week, and look for ways to be involved as well as encourage others to be involved. Visit their website under take action to become involved as a volunteer or connect to services if you need them or know someone who needs them. They also are actively hiring and growing their staff to better serve the Los Angeles community #GiveBack

The hardest thing for me not many can guide you or inform you the people to take you to temporary housing and then permanent housing. Majority of people are not aware of the process it is not instant and takes time for myself and my brother it's almost a year and finding out people discriminate on the homeless whether it's a racist issue or stereo types it is sad we need kindness forward to try to make a little impact of a smile and saying good morning no one is better than other but the true kindness of the heart is priceless. Happy Holidays and always appreciate and thank God you are above being close to poverty you never know if that happens to you but be grateful.

I don't know how much it is for birthday parties but it is a great cozy place to have a private event as it is smaller than other farms that offer the same service so you feel like you have more of a one on one experience. They have a yard with goats pigs and small donkeys that kid can play with and pet. They also have many horses and kids can try a ride them as part of the birthday package they offer. Clean restroom which is always a plus if you have you g kids. The stuff is super attentive and sweet. Bring sun block and a heat as it will get real hot these days!

Immediate comfort knowing that empathy, enjoyment and a gentle approach are at the heart of their service. Having had three different coaches, and several different volunteers helping, we consistently have rewarding experiences where we trust our young daughter in their hands. The horses are gentle and well-selected, and well-loved. They also do rescue work for donkeys - a plus for us! Their love of animals, and compassion for the larger world, shines through in their work. AND we had an amazing birthday party hosted here when our daughter turned ten. What an incredible experience for all who attended. Thank you, Special Spirit, for all you give to this world!
