Theres bike tracks so you can cycle you way around from animal to animal area but on the weekends this can be tricky with all the families , prams and children you have to dodge. The Playground is one of the better ones I've seen in Germany for kids and the Meerkats are alone worth visiting the Munenhof to see! Some of the animals I saw include -Camels -Pigs -Goats -Ox -Cows -Horses -Bison -Bunnies -Monkeys -Australian birds -Meerkats -Turtles The Aquarium is a bit lame-I also think it's odd that they allow people to bring their dogs in here as in my opinion it's upsetting for the animals The Monkey enclosure is a bit of a worry also as it had a electric fence only inches behind the main fence that more then a few little kids could help but touch and were given quite a nasty shock and left screaming in tears for trying to touch the cute little monkeys- clearly the kids aren't as clever as the monkys who know not to touch it :) Not a bad day out if you have kids- if you don't visit on a weekend and bring your bike for a less boring veiwing.

There is also a playground and a separate play area for kids to run about. Most everything is written in german so not really all that educational for older English speaking kids. There is an average restaurant onsite. The park is split by a road but there is a pedestrian bridge that connects both sides. The only negatives are getting there. If you drive, prepare to pay 10chf to park. If you take the train prepare to walk quite a ways before seeing any animals. If you take the S4 it is an additional 25 min walk from the stop to the park.

The bears were relocated in the 1800s from a much smaller pit. Usually, I find zoos depressing, but what saves this pit is the extenuation of the pit to across the path in a more secluded & beautiful area along the river. 5 stars for novelty.
