When I picked it up again, the new zipper was huge, completely wrong for the dress, and looked ridiculous. They again promised to fix it. I recently purchased some Ugg boots that I had only worn 3 times. The back of the boots have a flap which I mistakenly tore while putting them on one day not paying attention to what I was doing. So back where I'm from, there are cleaners that take shoes and fix them in-house. I figured Champions Cleaners would be a great place to take them to get fixed simply because of the rapport I built with the owner. I took the shoes in along with a dress and asked if they repaired shoes. There was a Nigerian woman there at the time and she told me yes. So I give her the shoe and tell her that I am going to provide the 2nd shoe for them to reference how to sew the flap back together. She said she will call me to let me know the price before they started working on the shoes, I said okay. A couple of weeks later, she calls and tells me that it will cost $25 to repair the shoe and they will call me when it is ready. A few weeks go by and I decided to call, the shoes were not ready yet, so I asked them to give me a call when they were ready. Over 1 month passes since the day I brought the shoes in. I get a call from the owner asking me if I can come pick up the shoes and that they had been sitting there for a while. My roommate said she even went there a week prior and they were sitting there, but she didn't know they were mine. I get to the cleaners to pick up the items and I immediately notice that the fur looked different on one of the shoes. I picked up the shoe and the fur was hard and rough. I picked up the other shoe (the shoe that was being worked on) and notice they sewed the flap on wrong. I ask the Nigerian woman to feel the shoes and if she felt a difference. Of course she said no and that she wasn't an expert on shoes. I told her that I needed to speak with the owner regarding this and that when I gave them the shoes, the fur did not feel that way. The owner ends up calling me a few days later and asks me what is going on. I tell him the whole deal and he immediately gets defensive. Telling me that they did not mess up my shoes and that's how they got them. We went back and forth over the phone and he asked me to bring the shoes in. I bring the shoes in and ask him to feel the fur and he says he didn't feel a difference (he was lying. One shoe feels soft and the other shoe feels hard and rough). It got to the point where we were arguing back and forth and he didn't allow me to pick up my dress that I had unless I paid for the shoes as well. I told him that I did not feel as if I should pay for something they messed up. Not only that, he should be reimbursing me for messing up my shoes. I ended up calling the cops because at this point he wasn't trying to hear me. He said. "If the cop feels the shoe and notices a difference, I will pay u for the shoes."The cops come and Of course they didn't want to get in the middle of it so to minimize me going crazy on his ass and going to jail, I paid for the items and left. A week or so later, I called the owner and practically had to beg him for a refund for sewing the shoes wrong. He tried to argue me up and down about why I should pay for shoes he messed up. He even told me "He'll think about giving me a refund." What?!? No! I had to ask him if he went to a restaurant and they messed up your order, don't u have a choice to get the food remade or refunded. Why aren't u giving me that option. Finally, I guess after seeing how understanding he was NOT, he decided to give me a refund. Fuck u and your shitty ass business! Karma is coming for u! Do not spend your hard earned money here!
