It was a really nice experience, cool spot. Really liked the team who served us. The bartender was…read moreextremely nice and kept checking in on me as I was feeling sick, we ended up having a good chat with him, he did a good job of being personable and connecting with us. There was also a chef that joined in later to the service, he had such incredible energy, you could feel the space shift as he started working. You could just tell he really enjoyed connecting with the people he works with and customers. He engaged quite a bit with us too. My husband is in the industry and I work in customer service and we both noticed the impact of his presence and really enjoyed interacting with him. Thanks for a great time!

There's something sexy about La Buvette. I feel so much more 'La Buvette' than 'The Refreshment Stand.' And that feeling is addictive. It could also be the food. As you'd pick up from the telltale noun gendering, the menu is French inspired with an Aussie twist. So while you'll surly find your Salad Niçoise, crêpes and baguettes, you'll also sit down to one of Sydney's best breakfasts and killer coffees. The vegan brekkie is a standout, as are the strawberry pancakes and eggs bene. The specials on the blackboard are drool-inducing as well, but I can never make it past the breakfast menu.

Celebrity spotted! For some reason this is a common catchcry at Spring Espresso. I have no idea…read morewhy, considering it looks like a normal cafe. Also this is usually a 2nd option for a lot of people when the line at Fratelli Paradiso across the road is too long... My experience here was really good. The coffee was excellent and the breakfast of eggs with bacon done well. Oh and I had a side of David Wenham. I dropped my menu and he was the guy at the adjacent table that picked it up for me. I said thanks and he said you're welcome. Then I did the double take and my friend was about to lose it. But luckily we both kept calm and tried to concentrate on my eggs. This is apparently his favourite breakfast place and also of many other beautiful people in Sydney due to the good coffee. So if you want a bit of sparkle with your coffee, Spring Espresso is where to go to stalk...errr....eat lol.

Each has only about 4 places to sit, in the entryway or on the pavement, and our guide book suggested picking whichever had the first free seat. We sat at Spring Espresso and had a fabulous breakfast. This isn't hard in Australia, but this one was tops for quality and the chic feel. My waffles with fruit were perfect; the coffee was heaven. The café has a very European feel in its size, decor and ambience. Even the service felt European: efficient but far from in-your-face. Very popular with the gay crowd, too.
