I hired Tidal Wave Concrete to replace my driveway. While the project was completed and the driveway initially looked okay, I had concerns about the workmanship--some aspects appeared rushed or below standard. I decided not to raise a fuss at the time because I at least had a usable driveway. However, within two years, large cracks developed, and the color never faded or blended as the contractor had assured me it would. I wasn't looking for free repairs--just wanted to share honest feedback that might be useful for future work. Unfortunately, when I reached out, Tanner responded with aggressive hostility and threatened me if I posted negative reviews, which I found completely unprofessional. After this experience, I looked into other reviews and public records and was dismayed to find that similar issues have happened to others, including some with more serious legal implications. I'm sharing this to help others make an informed decision. I recommend doing thorough research before hiring. I would not hire this company again. read more

I do not recommend Tidal Wave Concrete. They started out professional--handled permits, kept me updated--but after the driveway was installed in May 2025 everything went downhill. The first big rain sent water straight into my garage due to improper leveling. Weeks of promises to fix it, but no-shows every time. I even got a lien notice on my home because they didn't pay their supplier. Poor follow-through, poor communication, and still unresolved issues. Avoid. read more

I have 3 words for anyone considering hiring this company... RUN, RUN, RUN! There are many reviews with similar/same experiences as I had with them, and I wish I had researched him and his company thoroughly before hiring. PLEASE read all the negative reviews on Yelp and Google. Also read the reviews and complaints on the BBB website under both Tidal Wave Concrete and Pohlmeier Concrete (his previous company name). Also search county records online at https://hover.hillsclerk.com/ and https://www.civitekflorida.com/ocrs/county/51/ for lawsuits under Tanner Pohlmeier (Party Name) and Tidal Wave Concrete (Business Name). I had many, many problems with him, which included structural issues, cosmetic issues, and property damage. I contracted with him for a 27' x 16' rectangle patio slab, which I had to have completely removed (by another concrete company) and redone because of the structural issues, incorrect measurements, and lack of a permit. Instead of a 27' x 16' patio slab, I got the wacky shape of 24'10" x 15'10" x 25'10" x 15'10" (not rectangle or even square, and undersized). I clearly stated during the quote process that I needed it to be a buildable slab because I would likely be putting up a lanai structure. He did not pull any permits, insisting it wasn't required - all THREE times that I asked him if he was sure that I didn't need a permit. I later called the county inspector and asked for an inspection, and when the inspector came out, he informed me that I had needed a permit and inspections BEFORE the concrete was poured (since I was planning to build on it), therefore I could not now legally build on it. The new concrete company I hired to fix everything said it was best to just tear it out and start over because there were too many structural issues, including not having footers correctly poured (I paid for 12" x 12" footers that I didn't get), and the measurements/shape/size was too far off to fix or to build a lanai on, and also it was not properly permitted to be built on. In addition to all the structural and permit issues, it was a cosmetic mess. There were holes starting to appear within a couple of days with dirt coming up and out of the holes, sharp spikes in the stamp work which nearly cut my feet a few times, sections of the stamp pattern completely missing and crooked, and a VERY crooked contraction line. He significantly damaged my less-than-1-yr-old lawn - and also damaged my neighbors' lawns on both sides of me. He left the irrigation pvc cut open and exposed on the side of the slab, and he didn't cap off the irrigation UNDER the poured concrete, causing water to seep up between the middle section of the slab against the exterior of the house. He left big piles of concrete in several spots around my backyard lawn, nowhere near the slab. One of the piles was on my property line, and causing a problem with getting my fence installed. When I asked him to come out to remove that slab of concrete (that he dumped there for no reason) so that my fence could get installed as scheduled, he told me to tell the fence company to do it! Nearly two weeks after he poured the concrete and left my yard in a state of a complete mess and damage, he finally came back, and when I tried to address all the issues with him at that time, he got very loud/volatile and called me all kinds of nasty names (with expletives) simply because I told him the job was not done right, looked awful, and it needed to be fixed. He told me I was stupid for not expecting yard damage because, according to him, I should have known there would be lawn damage over my entire back yard simply because he told me that he was using a big truck to dig. He said he was "disrespected" by me (because I told him that his work was really bad), so he refused to fix a single issue or finish the job. When I told him that I'd sue him if he didn't fix everything, he told me to go right ahead and (I'm quoting him word for word, typos included), "I'm going to laugh thr whole time we go to court you're going to look like an idiot." I did end up filing a lawsuit, and he didn't even bother to respond to the suit, even though he previously stated he would file a counter suit if I sued him (for what? I still have no idea, and I didn't ask because it was a ridiculous statement). On top of the $7100 I paid him to do the concrete work (he was paid in full before he started pouring the concrete), I also ended up paying thousands of dollars to repair all the damage he caused, and to have the slab removed. My dealings with him began over a year ago (Aug 2023). It's been a very horrible and costly experience. Today I have a beautiful patio slab and lanai structure, but I had to tear out all the work he did and start all over with another company. So I'll end my review with the same as I started for anyone reading this and considering hiring Tidal Wave Concrete/Tanner Pohlmeier... RUN, RUN, RUN! read more

Dec. 7th 2022 Tidal Wave Concrete (Tanner Pohlmeier) contractually agreed to pour a slab outside in a corner of my house. They poured and stamped it. "BOTH" of us, Tanner and myself noticed that it pitches towards the corner, almost an inch. Now it pools in the corner everytime it rains. He told me he'd fix it but it's been 3 months now and nothing. Now I have to either pay to have it removed and redone or sweep the water off everytime it rains. The stamp job sucked as well. He even told me they stamped it too early. The forms blew out in the corners. Concrete 101: Pitch the slab away from the building. Thanks for the foot wash outside my door! read more

They have done a fantastic with stamped concrete for our place. Very knowledgeable on grade work to drain water off away from the house.

In November I hired this guy to do a big concrete job. I told him from the start a permit was needed. He gave me the run around even after I paid in full. He never pulled a permit so I backed out of the job sense it would be illegal. He didn't want to refund me so I had to dispute it. Luckily months later I got my money back.. all I have to say is do not do work with this company.. you will not be satisfied.. if you look up bbb he changed his company name because he ripped off so many people. read more

Horrible quality and service. They were completely messy, destroyed our sod.. ok. When they damaged the garage trim they threw come concrete on it and called it fixed, it was not. The amount of concrete all of the property was outrageous. Talk about a mess , not sure why they wanted to make piles of concrete in random places on my grass. When they took the forms off the amount of damaged they caused to the edges was insane. Then they damaged my sprinklers, which they claimed they would fix. The fixed appeared ok when we ran the sprinklers for 2 minutes but after we ran them for a cycle it was apparent they were not fixed and I had to pay a company to come out and do it right.The mess they caused to all my surroundings pavers, they were not careful or did not take the time to cover anything nor did they ask me to cover the pavers to prevent splatter. Then 2 months after the project was done, driveway started to break down at the bottom of the driveway and then in another spot a hole started forming. They will not come and fix it without a cost. Not an upstanding company. when you spend thousands of dollars you would think they could come and back their work and fix the spots that clearly had some issue due, but instead I am told well it's not their fault and if I wanted it fixed it will cost me more.
