Excellence In All Aspects!!! Recently, I was one of several travelers directed to pull over and issued a traffic citation for speeding in a zone with higher associated fines. I was shocked and horrified because I knew I was innocent! I am extremely cautious in such areas and a safe driver in general. I knew the citation had to be issued to me in error! None the less, I was advised by many that it would be my word against the word of the citing officer and told.... Good Luck on that one! I called several attorneys in private practice as well as associated with vastly large firms known for specializing in traffic citations for 30 years or more. However, to my dismay, I was told in such cases, errors on the ticket did not matter, my testimony of innocence would not matter and that the usually guaranteed refund fees did not apply because it was nearly an impossible feat to obtain a dismissal in such cases! I was advised by most attorneys to forget any hope of dismissal and my best chance was to enter a plea of no contest. During many of these telephone conversations, I was treated with absolute disrespect! One large well known firm specializing in traffic citations promised me a free consultation with an actual attorney rather office staff. However, when I was finally able to reach the supposedly free consulting attorney, he advised, I would need to settle for a no-contest plea at the pre-trial hearing. He stated, if you go to trial, it doesn't matter if you're innocent, the judge will most likely invoke high fees as well as points for wasting the court's time! In response to my next question, the attorney stated, I don't have time to talk to you; have you even retained me yet? When I informed him, this was to be my free phone consultation, he disconnected the call. Upon pleading my innocence to two other attorneys, the reply was, "I am not the attorney for you!" From other firms, I was told the fees would be increased with no guaranteed results. Furthermore and most frustrating to me, I was told by all of these attorneys and staff that they could not even tell me which attorney from their firm would actually be attending court to represent me. In fact, one attorney from a very large firm stated, if I go for you, it would be $500 and you will still lose; so I can send one of my ineffective attorney associates for $100 and he can enter a no-contest plea; call me when you have a real case!!!! I was mortified! Then, I contacted the office of Kevin Unger, ESQ (ungerandkowitt.com). I was treated with respect by Mr. Unger's staff whom actually listened to details and provided hope. I received a free telephone consultation with Mr. Unger the same day. To my surprise, he advised me that he would actually be the attorney attending court to represent me. He did not rush me, judge me, listened patiently and treated me with respect. He did not try to persuade me to simply plead no contest as others had and advised he would attend court 3 times for me if need be without any additional fees! I was so impressed! Once retained, at an extremely fair and reasonable fee, his staff immediately sent me a confirmation email and instructions pertaining to how to check the status of my case. I contacted his staff a few times prior to my pre-trial hearing, and they continued to be polite, helpful, considerate and extremely patient! Although, I had already had a telephone consultation with Mr. Unger free of charge and prior to being retained, Mr. Unger offered to meet with me again. During this time, he was polite, patient and very helpful as he reviewed my case details. He advised that although such cases did not often lead to a dismissal during the pre-trial hearing phase, he would do his best. ***And the result...... Despite all that I was told by at least 8-10 other firms, Mr. Unger whom believed in me and my innocence, the very next day and on a Saturday as his office is also opened on Saturdays provided me with the best news.......Your case was dismissed! 2 (TWO) RIGHT-ON-RED Tickets DISMISSED ! I received 2 Right On red tickets and the amazing team at Unger & Kowitt went to court on my behalf and they dismissed both of these tickets! The problem is that many people are afraid to challenge the SYSTEM and fall victim to the intimidating Notice of Violations they receive from a PRIVATE company that works in cooperation with the local cities and their camera system. There is nothing to be afraid of because most of the times we are too busy to stop and pay attention to the actual facts that are provided to us. If you return to the scene where the cameras are placed, you will notice that the warning sign(s) are not positioned to clearly notify you that there is a camera in place and it will record any and all traffic movement. In addition you can time the change from yellow to red for that traffic signal and you will notice that it actually switches faster than any other traffic signal that does not have a camera recording it. Plus when you receive the Notice of Violation and they provide you with a link to view the recording from the camera, you can notice that it shows you the recording in a faster speed so it looks like you are really at fault. The professionals at Unger & Kowitt review the same footage in slower motion and they can see if you have slowed down and your rear brake lights were illuminated or not and they can inform you if they can challenge this violation on your behalf. I see a lot of people having great results? DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ! Failed twice in two years of defense on a basic speeding ticket and now on a ticket I'm sure I wasn't at the speed and needed help. Defense never called to gather my defense in detail but went before the judge. I realized now I never once spoke or heard from an attorney only office staff when I called to say they can win for me. "Why is that?" Now I have $400 Fine plus "Points" on my license and "Class Time"?!?!?. I never received points on my license until now. I'm very disappointed to see I even turned down free counsel to go with Unger and kowitt base on them saying yeah we can win for you. In the world of many defense attorney I couldn't imagined it would of turn out this way. They claim they can win but if they fail no one would ever know about it. What is there percentage rate of win/lost? Also if they really was the best, a nice call to say hey...we did do our best and here is some detail and as a result failed me. Now I have to live with this not to mention "POINTS" cost money. Also staff is not the best at following up and seem defensive when inquiring about case and status. Called there about twice seemed mom and popish not the best in professional communication. Furthermore in my experience I wanted to give a zero so upset that this happened this way, no work around. Please be careful when making your selection on representation. Things change.... maybe onced the best but based on court proceeding results may not be the hype it once was. I was issued a citation for exceeding the posted speed limit by over 30 mph on A1A Ft. Lauderdale Beach. The fine was supposed to be around $400. During the same stop, I was issued another one for either expired registration or no proof of insurance (I forget). I took that on my own. I used the Unger & Kowitt Android app on my phone to upload an image of the citation and from there, they took over. They have a feature on the website that allows you to check in on the case status, but the receptionist let me know by phone and in writing when the case was scheduled for a hearing, when it went to trial, and when they got me off free and clear. The service was more personal than I predicted. I believe I did have a few moving violations in the preceding few years, but somehow they worked it out. When I have to deal with administrative tasks like renewing registration, license, paying parking tickets, etc. I feel like I am being tested every time, every step of the way. Things always seem to go wrong, I was glad I wasn't having to deal with anything. They saved me time, and the usual frustration and stress that's associated with dealing with things like this. I believe they gave me a $5 dollar discount for using the app as well. If it wasn't seamless and if the receptionist wasn't so nice, I wouldn't have taken the time out of work to write this review for a judgement ruling 3+ months ago. When I first came across Unger & Kowitt, I was new to the local traffic laws and regulations. European and having lived in Mexico for the last 8 years prior to arriving to live to Miami, I managed to get quite a few tickets, unfair or not, was not the point, but that I got them and needed to sort the problem out. I have to say I was a little skeptical about hiring a lawyer to fight my speeding ticket due to bad reviews and comments about lawyers. Some of them don't give a damn about your case. They don't even talk during trial, I experienced that once about 10-12 yrs ago. Some just want to get your money and that's it! Back then I got 2 tickets during a car accident, one I had to appear in court with my lawyer to which I had to plea guilty. I had no other "good choice" and my lawyer didn't do or say anything while I had a very good defense and proofs. The other ticket was just dismissed without even showing up in court. We, the lawyer and I went to that room to find out about the case cause we were late and fortunately that ticket was dismissed without the lawyer showed his face. I guess the judge was very happy that day. I'm not sure how my case was resolved with Unger and Kowitt, I mean, if my ticket was dismissed due to the lawyer's knowledge and talents or just dismissed due to my clean record; I was not there to witness that. I have received many, many tickets in my semi-short driving career. I go to Unger and Kowitt every single time, and every single time, they are the RIGHT choice. I am doing my best to follow the archaic laws of my area, but I have recommended and always will, Unger and Kowitt to every single person that ever brings up traffic tickets, lawyers, or anything related. I tell every single one to use them, because put simply, they are the best lawyers in the state of Florida when it comes to traffic problems (That is all I have personally used them for.) I have for a few tickets had some tricky circumstances, and they have always continued to come through for me, and that has made me a seriously loyal customer. I never care about money, personally, because the ticket you get is a cash grab by the state anyway. Think of all the work this firm does for the pittance they ask from you to do it. This firm is the best, and anyone complaining about cost doesn't understand the POINT of fighting a traffic ticket. I received a speeding ticket and I decided to hire someone to go on my behalf to the Court. I had not have incidents before and I did not want to have this on my records and get points and higher insurance rates. After searching for someone to represent me, I decided to go for Unger & Kowitt, they even have an app to upload my citation, and from then on, they took care of it. I received the citation from the court for my hearing, they went for me. They informed me that my case was DISMISSED!!!! No points, no court fees, no nothing!!!! I received a ticket which was totally unfair and I believe I got this ticket because I am a teenager which just purchased a new car. The officer stopped me and asked me to get out of the car while he searched my vehicle and then frisked me. On the ticket he issued he marked off reckless driver. When he posted the ticket with the courts he posted speeding. If I was a reckless driver at the time after doing what he did he should of arrested me. Unger & Kowitt got my BS red light camera right-turn-on-red ticket dismissed. This was in Homestead on 328th St. Violation was $158 which infuriated me, if you fight back & lose, it goes up to $277 plus your whole day from work to go to court. I paid Unger & Kowitt $50 and didn't lose any time, other than sending them a couple of emails with my infraction info, so that was awesome. Be careful at that intersection as you can turn right-on-red to head east, but the white line is way behind the intersection. Also eastward traffic is completely stopped while westward traffic has it's green light. Obviously you should be given a green turn arrow there, but there is none, which lures you into safely rolling thru the turn-on-red. The $50 was the only hit, but that's well worth it's value, especially when it keeps our government's grubby hands off of even more. read more

Let me start off by saying "Cats & dogs " doesn't have the same luck! But unfortunately on a 03/08/2019 came home in N Lauderdale from boat yard 2am decide to go west palm beach after etc passing CC casino ! Going 87 in a 45 ‍! Long story short called 04/02/2019 Unger & Kowitt said their fees 99$ paid tht got an email saying they received my payment! Etc they emailed it went to Pre trial I started to pray more an stay still - never did I call them to bother them lol I LET GOD GIVE THEM THE KNOWLEDGE TO DO THEIR WORK!-- result came NO points off license! most of the traffic iickets are unfair and have crazy fines and points. the policeman was hidding in a little street (one way), stop me and SAID that he saw me going very slow and giving right of way but not stoping COMPLETELY! by the sign. I told the officer that I am a save driver , no points for the last 25 years and I am taking the save driving course Voluntarily every 3 years!, but he did not care even after he checked my record. the next day I passed again by that little one way street and saw 2 policemen hidding to catch drivers, they where talking and drinking coffe and and ALL the passing cars where RUNNING! the stop sign without stoping by the officers. it was in Okland Park police restriction. of course Unger & Kowitt dismissed the case, they are protecting the good drivers against the bad cops. read more
