Poor Customer service and they handed us the wrong ring!!! Took my time with the review as I don't…read morewant this to happen to anyone else. I am writing this review to share a deeply frustrating and concerning set of experiences we recently had with Milanos regarding my wife's engagement ring--a piece of sentimental value to us. While we are part of this local community and prefer to support local businesses, the combination of administrative errors and quality-of-service issues we encountered makes it necessary to share this negative experience with other neighbors. In December, we brought the engagement ring in to have a single prong fixed. The sales representative correctly noted that the ring was over 20 years old and suggested that, to ensure its future security, we should consider replacing all four prongs. We understood the reasoning and decided to proceed with the full restoration, investing approximately $1,000. It was a significant cost, but one we felt was justified to protect a possession that holds so much meaning for us. Our first major disappointment occurred upon picking up the ring. The sales representative committed the grave error of handing us a ring that was not ours. The store had absolutely no idea that a mistake had been made. It was only when my wife carefully reviewed the ring and realized it was a different piece. She discretely called the rep over to inform them of the mistake. The level of inattention required to hand a customer the wrong, high-value item is truly alarming. To make matters worse, rather than offering a genuine apology, the situation was dismissed by mentioning that our "last name was similar to another client." We left the store troubled by the lack of care and professionalism shown. Some errors are simply unacceptable in a high-end service business, and this was one of them. Roughly three months later, one of the brand-new prongs from the restoration broke. Keep in mind, we had paid for all four to be replaced just months earlier. We returned to the store to have it fixed, expecting that Milanos would stand behind their craftsmanship. We were met with another profound disappointment. There was no apology for the flaw in their work or the significant inconvenience to us. Instead of sympathy, we were informed that the charge would be another ~$200 to fix the prong they had already "fixed" as part of the total restoration. Only after a lengthy and unnecessary discussion with the sales representative did they agree to reduce the price. Throughout this second interaction, the staff seemed bothered by our polite request to have them stand by their previous repair work. Due to the fundamental lack of security protocol and the distinct refusal to provide professional, courteous customer service when their own craftsmanship failed, we have lost all trust in Milanos. It is an unfortunate duty to share this negative review with our community, but we felt it necessary to inform our neighbors so that they might avoid the same distressing and costly experience. We will never return.
