This review is long overdue, but well deserved…read more The son and I have had such a great experience here, transferring from Emory Elementary in the South Bay Union school district. What a huge difference! The teachers have been more engaged and involved, and really cared about my son's transition. He absolutely loved going here from 4th - 6th grade. He made some really good friends here. The teachers took an active role in making sure my son got the best education - a big shout out to Ms. Rodgers and especially Mrs. Ruperto. Ever so kind, caring, and communicative, she noticed that my son was not as productive as he could be; and, because of her diligence, my son got the support and help he needed, as he was diagnosed with a mild cognitive learning disorder. He now has the resources he needs to learn efficiently at his pace. I also loved the principal, Dr. Grisier. Never have I seen a principal more actively involved with the staff and students, he's out there directing traffic in the morning and afternoons, walking around just to see and say hi to all the students, staff, and parents. Honestly, this school is one of the best out there.

We were able to overhear the teacher because the kids were on distance learning. She was telling the kids that republicans are bad and providing blatant liberal propaganda videos to our kids. We feel that the teachers should be teaching math, science, English, etc. In fact, you should not even be able to tell which political party the teachers are. This school is a factory for creating liberals. They are grooming children to be liberals, and they punish you if you are not. If you are independent or conservative, please do not send your kids to this school. These are the formative years, and they have the ability to hijack these young minds. Many of our friends have moved their kids out of Salt Creek into private schools, home schooling, or out of state schools. It's just sad what this school has become.

There is a dual-immersion program so that students are taught in Spanish and English. Our family has built many friendships with the teachers, faculty, and other parents. There are a lot of kids, over 1,000, and the only problem is the traffic situation in the mornings and afternoons. Overall, it's a great school in a community that cares about the children and their families.

I was blessed to be a parent at Tiffany Elementary since 2022. I had two children attend Tiffany in…read morethe Dual Immersion (DI) program. Throughout our time at Tiffany, overall it was a fantastic school. Things I loved: - The principal & staff were always extremely involved on a personal level and knew us by name. - A few times I had concerns and the principal right away welcomed me into her office and gave me all the time I needed to answer any questions until I felt really solid. She is an awesome principal... very logical & fair. - They offer DI. I really wanted my children to do the DI program. My older son had challenges in the program, but the challenges were specific to him. We don't speak Spanish at home & he was resisting learning Spanish. The teachers were very accommodating & provided us with many resources. In the end we decided to pull him out of the program at the end of 3rd grade. My daughter on the other hand was flourishing in the DI program. Every child is so different. - When my son was in Kinder & First grade he had some behavioral issues. They allowed him to see the school counselor and that was so helpful and an amazing resource. - It has a real family friendly vibe. The families are all very much involved. The 6th graders act like kids and dress like kids. It has a nice little neighborhood small tight knit community feel. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5: - I felt like my son wasn't doing well in DI since 1st grade & I kept bringing that up to the teachers & principal, however I felt like they kept encouraging me to keep him in and just stick it out although my concern was year after year. - I did not have the best experience with my son's 1st grade teacher. She would say he was "bad" and when I asked her what was bad about his behavior she couldn't give me anything specific except he had high energy, which in my opinion is normal for a 5/6 year old boy. She was a new teacher to the school that year and luckily was transferred to a grade that was more appropriate to what she can handle. I will say though I started volunteering in the class and after that gave her so much grace. The class was really high energy and I wish she was given a TA to help her - My daughter's TK year was really inconsistent. For half the year the teacher was out and it was a bunch of different substitutes. Luckily my daughter is resilient and didn't mind, but I saw a lot of other kids have trouble that year. Overall though I loved this school. The challenges I had were things that were out of the principal and staffs control and I look back and truly know they did the best they could. I would highly recommend this school.

The Principal and the Headmaster were not supportive or helpful in trying to solve the problem nor did they uphold those school values. Fast forward, we discovered that not all of the administrators nor teachers were honest and ethical. We ultimately decided to leave the school and move up to the Poway school district where we have been very happy ever since. Our experience was so horrible at BCD that years later we still cringe when we think of this school. This is not where you want your children to go to school...and we discovered upon leaving the school that you can purchase their curriculum online for about $20. The parents who don't even know this school are doing an injustice by rating it with just 3 stars. My 2 kids have been attending at this Bonita Country Day School ever since they can start to attend school at age 3. I stayed as long as I can & have been with this school since 2006. In regards to academic curriculum and excellence it is top notch and advance without pressure. BCDS curriculum is 2 years advance on average, and they supplement the lessons most times, so your kids will mostly likely be more than 2 years advance. My kids have been about at least two years academically advance for all their grades when they were tested. In comparison to all the many other elite Southbay and La Jolla private schools I had visited, BCDS is obviously advance. Some of those schools I checked out were even amazed to find out Bonita Country Day School 4th graders are actually doing high school math as a norm. Most new kids entering BCDS for older grades, usually needs help to catch up because they are behind at the other schools they have been attending. Kids are allowed to naturally reach their potential thru independent studies under close administering & guidance by instructors at BCDS. Parents who decide to enroll their kids here at Bonita Country Day School (BCDS) will come to appreciate it watching their kids grow intellectually & be independent thinkers. Many schools boast successful students but they cannot produce great student successfully on high academics like they do at BCDS.. If parents seriously compare curriculum, you will see why BCDS is the better choice. It shows when the kids do well when they have to move on to other schools by academics and exhibits wonderful demeanor. Bonita Country Day School has been known and proven to produce many students who are highly advance learners and thinkers successfully. Note, this school is not big on sports or fancy libraries, or pretentious show of technologies. It is about basic fundamental education to provide your kids with the building blocks for personal success. This schools tuition is a bargain if parents can recognize the real higher cost of putting their kids through standard or less than mediocre expectations at local public schools which are suppose to be free. It is the best money you can spend on your kids.. If you can find it or already have the money to spend on your kids, do it here . There is an average of less than 20 kids per class for every teacher. Its almost like you are getting private lessons for your kids. Sign up your kids now. I have been told, lesson will be provide for all grades, even if there may only be 1 student a particular grade. It's most accommodating here. Faculties from competing schools have been known to tell me on many occasions how they highly regard the talents of Mrs. C, the principle at Bonita Country Day. She does work with cooperative parents to help kids achieve high. All my suggestions and kind requests have been met during the time I have been at BCDS. I only have compliments at this school. She is especially gifted to teach & knows how to help your children grow to their fullest potential intellectually. She prepares them for the real world by helping kids slowly build their public speaking skills throughout the coursework in so many subtle ways too. That bonus part is not even mentioned in the curriculum. I have seen so many kids blossom under her special supervision.. This school is gentle in ways but do not expect your kids to be babied. The staff are nurturing, attentive and knows when your kids are feeling off or not well right away, or knows if they are just testing out the teachers patience. The kids are taught to be independent from an early stage through subtle discipline with simple routines that build up through the grade levels. It's awesome if you recognize what they are doing as parents. It is not a school to show off assets, the families who attend BCDS are mostly very successful, highly educated professionals who are also very humble. It is the right school if parents want outstanding results for their kids. Go there, & you will see... My 2 kids & I love it at BCDS!

And if this school is "ghetto", you must be walking around with your eyes closed because this is one of the nicest neighborhoods I have ever seen. If the previous reviewers are talking about the other students, on the other hand, well, I can't make any judgments on them.
