Very nice! 3 rooms of which I saw, AC, everything you need, microphones, amps, drumset etc. I had trouble finding it, there's no big sign saying "this is the place". And Google maps will take you somewhere else. So after you make that turn onto kaaahi st off of Dillingham, into the back roads by that gas station, keep going, its the second left(not the garage). When you see Oahu food club you are there. The parking stalls are next to the fence. The entrance are stairs that go up. Hope you find this helpful! :) read more

Went to Thunder Studios to jam with some friends tonight and what an awesome experience. The place was decorated well and had some really nice lighting. The studio we reserved was perfect, the equipment wasn't beat to heck and the bathroom was the cleanest I've ever seen at a rehearsal space. The girl who was working (she told me her name and I forgot :( ) was absolutely awesome. She had an answer to all of our questions and when we asked for an aux cord she was cool enough to hunt one down and set it up for us. Really top notch staff! What can I say ... I've been coming here for a couple years, auditioned for a band, made it, and now practice here weekly. Honestly? I've practiced at other studios. This place is clean, neat, and everything works. Brian is pretty amazeballs. Easy to work with and always tries to accommodate our requests. We never stress, this guy works hard and even if he's overseas, he will contact people here to ensure everything is going well for his customers here. Thunder has an awesome variety of rooms. I have started to come here with my daughter who is now running in a pageant. She'll be singing and Thunder has a room that is perfect for her to do that. Not to mention he has whatever wires you might need and can usually fulfill our requests. The smallest room starts at $20 an hour. All of the available rooms are reasonably priced and his booking system is easy to use. Keep up the awesomeness Brian - The Stellarcats are grateful for all you do for us and we appreciate being able to practice here on a regular basis. We recorded our first single here ... it was the best experience of my life . If anyone leaves a shitty review, they probably tried to rip him off or didn't get what they wanted - and sometimes you can't get everything that you want. This place can be jam packed. Brian is the nicest guy I've met in the business so far. He makes sure bands stick to their times, so the next band isn't waiting 5ever. His gear is awesome not rusty run down equipment. Been coming here weekly for some time now and I love it. You can book practice rooms online and each room comes equipped with mics, stands, guitar amps (2 per room), bass amps, drum set and PA. Brian runs the place and he makes sure you've got everything you need for your rehearsal, just need to bring in your instrument. Rooms vary in size and prices vary per room but you are charged at an hourly rate. If you get hungry, they have a little snack bar with some bottled water, soda and candy. They also sell extra drum sticks and 9v batteries just in case. There is a little parking lot plus street parking and someone from Thunder usually hangs out there through the night to direct parking and keep an eye on the vehicles. **for the guitar players** Each room has a different head/cab or combo but you can request for a specific amp when you book the room (Egnator, Fender, Marshall, Orange, Peavy, Line 6, Mesa) read more

Some of the Rooms are ok, One nice room. The owner is kind of a greedy guy. We got bumped from the big room a handful of times though we booked it in advance. He bumped us for last minute call from a large band that needed the large room Stuck us in the B room. He also bumped us completely though we were regulars. Even was told literally minutes before after arriving that he over booked, blamed it on his intern. Not cool. I will never patronize thunder again. Not to mention is in a very seedy area with lots of homeless people around. Studio A is great, the others are alright to crappy. Now with a bar and liquor, not my scene, potential problems. Plus looks of people checking on your band? Some real totally cool bands and musicians but some Total Drunk people giving you attitudes. I prefer Jolt, cooler owner, privacy, no rushing in and out. Thunder some bands will rush in and start getting in your way when you're trying to break down and leave and also some bands take their sweet time digging out so you're already out of 30 minutes both ways leaving you 1 1/2 hours when you book too, because its all back to back booking. If the screw overs were once or twice I'd say it was ok, but this happened at least 5-6 times. Raised prices on us after quoting a price, which was not a big deal $$$ wise but very uncool. Main thing is they do not treat you right. read more

Been there, pretty nice, tried several times subsequently to book space but they never answer their phone, nor do they return voice messages. Maybe they're all booked up until the next millennium or something and DGAF any more? Strange way to do business. read more
