The limit of shavings is not great, because we knew of a horse there that'd never been in a stall before and she'd pace in her stall, she just spread it around, there was barely any shavings left. They were spread out all over her stall and the mat was exposed the next day after cleaning day. If we wanted extra shavings, we had to pay an extra $9.00 for a wheelbarrow full, but not full to the point where the shavings were spilling out. One of the main things we didn't like were the cliques and back stabbing that went on there. The manager said she wouldn't tolerate it, but wouldn't do anything about it. The staff there were pretty rude and would really only talk to you when it was time to pay rent. When it's time for the Eugene Pro Rodeo, forget on riding anywhere. Even though we couldn't ride while set up, days of rodeo and clean up, I still had to pay full rent and wasn't pro rated for the days I couldn't use the facilities. Even though there were cameras, we didn't know if they even worked, because there was a lot of theft, dumping of dirty shavings, etc. that was never followed up on. The wash rooms always had plugs with fur, mane and tail hair and feces, so you definitely had to wear rubber boots. The wash area next to an arena was for boarders and show horses that came for shows. There were signs that said to clean up after your horse but the show attendees never did. Nothing was ever done about it. I had a stall right next to the wash room and my horse was wet quite a lot and the shavings along the wall to about 2 feet in were always soaked. That made my horses stall 2 feet smaller. I still had to pay full price, even though I asked many times for a higher wall and a better seal on the inside of the wash room and the inside of my stall next to the wash room. If you're okay with one of the pros and cons, maybe this stable would be good for you. In honesty, I can't say I'd recommend it.

When shows are in you can forget using arenas. Morning feeder is cruel and slaps horses, and dumps there waters. BIG problem with theft.Stalls are hit and miss. The arenas are well kept up but the office staff is rude to the point of being vicious. They treat anyone they don't know with spite and malice, owner "Major" is a joke walking. I left with clear bill no board owed, found out several months later that they reported me to collections for someone elses bill!!! Inquired several times, no answer. Finally got it removed, most shows are boring and not we'll put together, as stated, Mountain Trail is what they are ALL about. I would never board here again, to many issues.

Elsie pays excellent attention to the individual care and needs of each horse to ensure proper care. The turnout situation is one of the best I have seen among various boarding facilities. Horses hooves are even picked by staff after they have been outside. Feed quality is great- horses are fed as much as they need and have individualized feeding plans that are adjusted as needed. The barn is quiet and peaceful. There is never traffic in the arena and the property is well-maintained. There is little tolerance for drama and Elsie ensures that the dynamic at the barn (whether it is staff or boarders) stays pleasant and professional. If you are looking for quality care, a quiet and kind social dynamic, and a beautiful place to spend time with your horse, Wild Rose Farm is a great option.

The horses well being is prioritized and that is apparent through the peacefulness of the horses. Elsie is helpful and very intelligent in her horsemanship as well as her processes. It's nearly impossible to find barns in the PNW with much turnout due to the mud, but at Elsie's place the horses have ample room to explore and be horses for a while each day, and then there stalls have large open windows on both sides so the horses can observe the goings ons. Very much recommend Wild Rose Farm.
