Greg at Thunder Mountain was kind, helpful and went above and beyond at all times. I highly recommend working with them!

Is this the best bike shop in the country? Absolutely. I've rented MTB bikes all over the USA on multiple trips & this is hands down the best experience ever. Very reasonable rental rates especially w discount for multiple days + fantastic selection of premium equipment, but it's the folks at the shop like Greg & Mike who make it special. Mike graciously helped fix a rental reservation snafu on my part at the last minute while Greg took his time fitting the bike just right for my riding adventures in Sedona & offered unparalleled local hospitality w both great trail & food recos. Can't wait to come back to this shop & ride the rest of Sedona! read more

Top notch service on the spot. Upon my arrival in Sedona I realized my front hub bearings were shot making the already rocky terrain seem even rougher. I was able to track down some replacement bearings and rolled into Thunder Mountain Bikes (with no appointment) to inquire about having them installed. They said no problem - took my bike back & replaced the bearings while I waited making my ride on Mescal later that morning much more enjoyable. Super friendly and reasonable prices. My new go-to bike shop when visiting the area. read more

We brought our bicycle in because we couldn't get the front tire pumped up with our own pump. Brian reactivated the stuck valve inflated the tire and check the pressure on the other tire/ topped off the air ... and native Sedona lady called Sedona :-) helped us to lift the bike back into the trunk of our car... then...no charge!!! Just really helpful kind people there! Thanks ! ...we definitely will use your shop when we need a repair. read more

We had another great experience at Thunder Mountain Bikes. My son's bike started clicking and we tried oiling and tightening everything and it kept clicking. So we brought it to Thunder Mountain Bikes. This time we had the pleasure of working with Mark who eased our worries by assessing the situation and determining that it was not a safety issue. Secondly, he identified that it could possibly be a bottom bracket. So he offered us to change out the bottom bracket immediately. He had the right part in stock and changed it quicker than a Ferrari pit crew. In no time flat my son's bike was back to perfect working order! We did not miss any rides and we kept charging on the awesome rocky desert trails! and it only cost $125 total - stoked! read more

Rented adult and kid mountain bikes for a day. Amazing customer service! Thunder Mountain fit everyone for bikes quickly, and our rental included helmets and even a bike rack, which they kindly fit to our rental car. Staff also recommended great beginner rides for our kids. Will definitely return when we're in Sedona again! read more

Shout out to folks at Thunder Mt bikes! I had a queen size air mattress and of course the bike pump wouldn't work. They graciously gave me air and pumped it right up. So helpful. They also tuned up all my bikes my family used when they came in April. Way to go. read more

All the staff is very personable and helpful even on the busiest day. Definitely recommend!

After doing some research, it appeared right off the bat that this place was the best one for bike rentals. When I contacted the store to inquire about the rentals, they were very informative and helpful. Shoutout to Megs who not only answered all our questions but went beyond providing excellent customer service by helping us rent last minute on a busy weekend. She even helped us pick up the bikes the night before so we could ride early the next morning. The bikes themselves were in excellent condition and I had no complaints. Will definitely be coming back! read more

Thunder Mountain!! We are guests here in Sedona (meaning im not a local and don't know these guys and gals at all) this weekend for my Loves Birthday and at 3:30 pm on a Saturday, I crashed on Little Horse and my front brake lever did not survive. Snapped right off on the pointy rocks! I'm ok though. I have neosporin. But my bike! Suddenly my whole weekend was not going to happen!! We rushed back down the mountain, as fast as one could go with only rear braking power, and some adrenaline to beat time and give the guys as much possible time to hopefully fix my bike...today... We got back to our airbnb, threw the bike on the truck and jammed (through the traffic jam, so not fast at all) to Thunder Mountain. My love called on the way to make sure they had the lever or an equivalent and they did! We arrived and walked through the door. Their service bay had five other bikes in there already. . Two seconds later my bike was handed off to a tech and in the stand! Omg. Crisis averted!! We went down the street and filled the car with gas, hit the local brewery for our after ride beer, and got a text half hour later that my bike was finished and ready for pickup!! Thanks Thunder Mountain!! Our birthday weekend was totally saved because of your efforts!! read more

I'm a SoCal native and have visited Sedona a few times for the outdoor / mountain biking scene. I've visited this shop a few times for gear / souvenirs, and today (Sunday) had to visit in hopes of getting my bikes drivetrain fixed / squared away. With no appointment on a weekend day, they were kind enough to fit my service in for the day and got my bike back up and running in no time. I appreciated that, once the issue was identified, they brought me back to the service area and showed me the issue. Great service. Knowledgeable staff. Great shop. read more

These guys were lifesavers, Mikey, best bike mechanic and all around good guy fixed one of our riders from the Fuller Center Adventure which are riding from La Jolla to Wilmington, NC. Our rider's bike fell over and messed up the electronic derailer, we brought it in and Mikey immediately put it on the lift and went to work on it until he got it back perfect also lubed checked out the rest of the equipment and handed it back and said -NO CHARGE. Now that is called service, not only did he immediately go to work on it to put Heather (rider) back on the road, he spent a good half hour getting everything right. Of course he was properly tipped regardless of the no charge but WOW is all that comes to mind.. When in Sedona, Thunder Mountain is the place to go for all you bicycle needs!!!! read more

I'm a local and a long-time customer. I bought a Trek Fuel ex-e, a former rental bike, from TMB. Purchased with a full Trek warranty. First trail ride, I noticed a problem with the motor. I contacted the owner, Mike Raney. It was somewhat difficult to replicate the problem and Mike and staff couldn't figure it out at first. Mike stuck with me on this and they were able to get a video of the motor performance and sent it to Trek. Trek replaced the motor. I just took it for a test ride and it was awesome! Thanks to Trek and Mike Raney for standing behind their product and supporting the people who support them!! read more

My first time in Sedona and I managed to break my bike. I stopped into the shop and everybody was super friendly and they have lots of selections to pick from. There was a great selection of bike parts, accessories to clothing. I ended up picking up some pit viper sunglasses that I am over the moon in love with. My bike needed a new chain and the seat dropper was sticking. They were able to service my bike while I waited. I just love the vibe of the people in the store that I ended up buying new bike pedals and had then installed. They can also wash your bike so I left them a big tip. If you ever are in Sedona or you live in Sedona this is a great place to visit to get your bike serviced or go shopping. read more

Beware the 10% cancellation policy, which I didn't see in the fine print and which they won't make an exception for even if you cancel well in advance and only a few hours after your reservation. I only saw that there was a 24 hour policy, and reserved a bike on Wednesday for the coming Saturday for my girlfriend because it was the last one available in Sedona (so CLEARLY they were going to have no issue renting the bike out again by Saturday). When I realized a few hours we wouldn't be able to ride because she had made other plans, I went to cancel and saw the 10% fee. I called the shop and politely asked for an exception, given that a) it's not common practice in the industry 2) I had just made the reservation a few hours ago and 3) there was 3 days to go and they would be able to rent it in the high rental season. I was told by someone in the store she would ask the reservations person to do that for me and then I was given a refund but they kept 10%. I called the shop to again ask for an exception and was told their was nothing they could do and I needed to email one of the owners. You may say "well, this is their policy and you signed the cancellation policy when you booked" and that's true. If this is the way this company wants to run their business, that's fine, but I will patronize a shop that doesn't nickel and dime me, and that empowers it's employees and store managers to make reasonable exceptions. read more

Thunder Mountain Bikes - Dirty bike after Bell Rock Pathway ride - Bike Rentals Near Me - Sedona, Arizona

Why are bike shop guys always so cool? I was visiting from LA, was riding on Bell Rock when my left crank fell off!!! Took it to this shop and the guys reattached it and wasn't even charged for it. This bike shop has great customer service. We were here for a week in Sedona and brought in our bike to get a quick fix and they happily accommodated. Also great logo shirts and other gear. Their staff was super attentive and I was asked by multiple staff if I needed help. They also do bike rentals, lessons and give recommendations on trails based on skill level. This is a great locally owned bike shop. read more

In town for the first time with my bike, I was hoping for some basic good insider information of which way to head for some good riding and to pick up snacks for the week. The question from the guy behind the counter was good: "depends on your ability." After briefly answering his (non) question he simply shrugged and pointed at two maps mumbling "these are the maps." It was at this point that I realized he had not asked about my ability, but it was his opinion about trails corresponding to ability. At $13 each I bought the map only to find that there was less information on the map than can be found on MTB Project. It's not like they were busy at all, there was no one in the shop. Come on guys, your bread and butter is tourists, put on a smile and fake it if you must. You would have made more $ by being helpful to me as I always find a way to buy unnecessary stuff at the local bike shop. I just departed Cave Creek area where the LBS offered suggestions for group rides, guided rides, and told me which MTB app works best in the area. They provided a free map of bike paths in town and made quite a bit of money from me. They also earned a loyal customer and received a great Yelp review. It's just not that hard guys! read more

DOPE! This was the first MTB trip where i did not bring my own bike. I rented an EVIL (The Following) bike for three days and man it did not disappoint. The bike selection was killer and I would absolutely rent from them again. Free stickers too- thank you. read more

Needed some help with my brakes because I flew in from out of town and didn't have any tools. All the shops are busy but these guys were super cool about helping me out and Seth got me back up and running in no time. They had some outlaw country playing the whole time which was a bonus. Threw them a $20 tip 'cause 6-packs are overrated and picked up a new jersey while I was there as well. Go here and enjoy riding your bike. read more
