He took the time to listen to my concerns, ordered appropriate labs, adequately informed me what was going to be extra vs. what would normally be covered. A few weeks later, we had a televisit in which he went in depth in discussing my labs. All communication outside that for referrals and additional labs are done by via text. In a difficult process, I finally found a way to navigate their difficult patient portal and schedule an appointment which was six months further down the road. A week before that appointment, I received a call from HSS telling me that the specific doctor did not accept my medical insurance and that they canceled the appointment and would not provide me assistance in finding another doctor on staff that did accept my insurance. Months later, I decided to try again. I called the main phone number and a girl named Carly assisted being scheduling an appointment and finding a doctor that did take my insurance. I explained my condition and history to her and was grateful for her assistance. A short time later, I received a call from HSS staff inquiring as to if I needed a knee replacement or not, I explained that I did not know and that if they could direct me to the most experienced doctor that could help make that determination would be most appreciated. Shortly thereafter, I received a third phone call saying that the doctor Ayoosh Pareek was canceling my appointment because he did not do knee surgeries. I explained that I do not know if I needed a knee surgery and they said that I had to go back to the online portal and find another doctor to kind of work my way up the chain of command. I asked for assistance in doing that saying that this would be the third time and that I have no idea what Dr would be the best choice and that it keeps extending my appointments further down the road. She explained that she understood, but that it was my task to do not hers. I personally feel that they are doing this, intentionally to set up as many medical appointments as possible with as many doctors as possible so they could make my insurance pay as much as possible to their financial benefit and not to the benefit of the patient. It makes me wonder how other people who may not be as fluent in the language or in their insurance details are treated and how much money the insurance company could potentially be milked out of! My opinion is to avoid this place at all cost if you are able!! My experience was terrible 3 times. Maybe that's a sign to find a better place for help.

I have been going to Midtown Medical Healthcare Center for about a month now and I must say I am impressed. I walked in, with back and neck pain, ready to be just a number that would be poked and told to come back next month. This is totally the opposite of what I have received consistently!! The staff at this facility is obviously treated very well because they knew my name when I walked in the door. Luz and Lorraine greeted me with their smiling faces and jolly personalities. I have never gotten there and have had to wait they keep things very timely. This center is a one stop shop. I have been examined and had x-rays, diagnosed, received physical therapy AND massage. The massage therapists are some of the greatest that I have ever had to touch my body. I really want to think of something bad about this place because no where is perfect...except Midtown Medical Center obviously. Another quality that I am just mind blown about is the cleanliness. Since moving to NY I have become a bit of a germaphobe. I carry my wipes and sanitizer and I have not pulled it out once. I have referred a couple of my friends that are having problems with their bodies and they are also satisfied. Back pain, neck pain, no pain, whatever the case may be...GET TO MIDTOWN MEDICAL. I see Dr. Lamarre now and she's wonderful! But the great thing is that if I need to see someone else in a different location they have always been just as awesome. Can't recommend enough.

I went to a One Medical NYC location recently for a small skin rash. I liked the doctor a lot -…read morefriendly, patient, listened to me; so I have no issue with her. The doctor looked at my rash through one of those lens thing and felt it and determined it was nothing to be concerned about. No tests, no skin scrapings, no lotions, nothing. I have no issue with this because it wasn't necessary - and two days later the rash was all but gone. My issue is with the huge bill I was left with! OM was in-network, so I expected a very bill. Instead, they billed my insurance $740 (!!!!) and of that, I was left to pay $475. Just think about that....$475 for a doctor to look at skin rash. This is insane! I spoke to my Benefits Manager and he did some research and if I'd gone to CityMD (which I'd done in the past), I would've had to pay only about $200. So OM was more than twice as much!! I would strongly advise anyone to go to another one of these types of clinics, like CityMD, because you will likely be shafted with a huge bill for the most minimal thing done.

But they are not…read more They messaged us on the day of our scheduled annual physical to let us know that we can't get lab work done during the appointment because their lab closes around the appointment time, and I will have to come in another time to just get my lab works done. How could they not know this earlier and reach out to reschedule? They just expect me to take time off again during a work week to come in? This is very unprofessional, and disrespectful of anyone's time, especially during a work week. I chose the membership because I wanted a more efficient way to see doctors but they made it harder and more difficult than just any traditional doctor's office out there. On the phone with an administrative assistant, complained about the situation and asked to speak with someone about cancelling the membership. She did not even try to keep me as a member at all, and didn't even bother to let me speak anyone. All I knew was my membership is canceled and I will get the refund. Let's see how far this type of operation and attitude can take you. Funny thing is, there are just so many doctors office out there to choose from.
