Under those circumstances, clear and consistent communication was absolutely critical. Several aspects of our experience stood out. First and foremost, the quality of the work was exceptional. The finished product is beautiful, and the attention to detail is evident throughout the entire house. Second, during the planning phase, Prime Design provided a comprehensive list of decisions we needed to make--from flooring and countertops to every light fixture and faucet. This created a clear roadmap for the project, helped us select items that complemented one another, and documented every choice along the way. As a result, there were no surprises when the project was completed. Finally, because we were still living out of state during much of the construction, regular communication was essential. We received frequent progress updates and photos, which allowed us to monitor the work, confirm that everything met our expectations, and feel confident that the project was moving in the right direction. After a meeting with my mother, and clear explanations of what we needed and her mobility issues, we got a quote from Cam at Careful Cut. After a few days of working on the project, Cam told my mother the work was done. Being a trusting person, my mom paid him. The work was not done. There was a large gap between the house and the railing (unlike the railing that was replaced) which was a major safety hazard for an elderly person. See picture. The railing that was there was splintery and not sanded. He also missed a number of spots when painting. We contacted him and asked him to complete the work. At first he said he would "see what he could do about the railing and that the door was in the way". Note that the door was only in the way because he forgot to account for door opening when building the steps. When, a few days later, we asked him again when he could finish the job , he sent a rude message then ghosted us. We had to hire someone else to finish the work. Do not hire Cam at careful cut carpentry

I made sure I sent pictures ahead of time and also confirmed twice ahead of time that they had the ability to clean the ceilings. They showed up with a small ladder a bit bigger than a step stool. The ceilings were not cleaned and still have lots of cobwebs. We paid $550 for a deep clean- the bedrooms were left with all beds unmade- windows and floors were not done. My poor mother in law trusted me to pick a good company and we were left to clean after paying a high price for cleaners. Others in the area quoted around $330!! I give two stars because they did a great job in the downstairs bathroom. That being said- that's the room they started in so I think the mojo was lost after that. Again- we asked for a deep clean and got a light dusting. Very disappointed -atleast they were very nice whenever we had interactions !
