I'm forever grateful to Dr. Johnson and the miracle of homeopathy. My case has been extremely complicated yet I've been consistently healing. Dr. J is cream of the crop, an incredibly qualified ND who sincerely cares for the recovery of his patients. I never felt he was pushy for extra appointments, impatient, or judgmental in the slightest. Keen listener, analytical, sharp. Northern VA is ridiculously lucky to have such an outstanding practitioner. Truly A+++!
Despite enormous efforts spent in reading, I couldn't really understand what this "alternative" medicine was 'til treatment began. Turns out it's the best decision I ever made. My only regret is it took me over a year. If you're in doubt because you're unfamiliar with homeopathy and suspect it's not "legitimate", I earnestly urge you to take the leap. It was founded by a German doctor named Samuel Hahnemann in the 1700-1800's and is still widely practiced in Europe and Asia... including the Royal family and 40% of France. If you're apprehensive because of cost (initial 2-hour consultation is around $385, follow-ups vary between $70-130 in my experience), I believe I wasted MUCH more $$$$ on conventional medicine for a diagnosis none of 'em could ever quite get right. Can't forget the $800 bill for a blood test which my insurance company wouldn't cover - results that claimed nothing was wrong with me besides a Vit. D deficiency. Lmao.
I'm about to share a lot of personal info on the dreadfully public Internet, but if my story can persuade even one person to see Dr. Johnson, it's worth it. I was 26 when I saw him. Maybe you're scoffing, "How sick could a 26-year old woman be?" haha. Since 4th grade, I fell into deep depression and anxiety. They say these things are phases for most, but neither ever went away for me. I believe in hindsight, the perpetuating chronic negativity in my mind began to affect my body. Imagine each one of your joints burning - whether or not you're moving - and an ever-worsening posture. It hurt to move, it hurt not to move. I had severe gastroenterological issues... constipated for 5-7 days at a time, passing blood and mucus in my stool, acid reflux at the slightest thing that isn't rabbit food, frog belly bloated status... of course this began to wreak havoc on my immune system. I was sick and heavily fatigued at all times. I could sleep for 12 hours and still feel exhausted. I'm telling you, I'd go to sleep at 8pm and rise at 7am, then inhale adderall and coffee to survive work. And my vision rapidly worsened. Halo around lights, severely heavy weight on my eyelids, hellish pressure behind eyes.. I was diagnosed as high-risk for glaucoma. It was as if my body was falling apart. I'd lift heavy 4-5x per week and consume 145g of protein per day, but I'd hardly see results and be sore for 5 days. It was as if there were malabsorption issues in my GI tract. Massive amounts of hair falling out. Gagging for no reason. Routine was to come home, crawl under my blankets in the dark, and cry. I felt institutionalized, every day was a burden and chore. I was in a relationship and jobs I hated myself for being in. Waking up felt disappointing. Numbed by anger and grief, I'd often look up methods of suicide - then hated myself further for being a coward.
Prior to consultation, I completed several pages (12+), ranging from physiological to psychological. This holistic survey was speckled with unorthodox questions like "Do you like eggs?", "What are your dreams usually about?", and "If you were sitting on a bench under a tree, half of it in the sun, day is about 75 degrees, would you sit in the shade or the sun?" For 2 hours, Dr. J asked further questions based on my responses. At the end, he provided me with a "remedy", individualized to me.
It's been ~9 months into treatment, and I don't remember when I was EVER this happy to be alive. Certainly not since I was a kid. I'm regular, I build muscle more easily, I have energy to work 2 jobs and run on 4.5 hours of sleep for days straight, I dumped that loser and quit that job, I no longer take adderall, I'm full of confidence, my vision and posture have improved, I've claimed more responsibility over my life and boundaries, leading me into more positive relationships and surroundings. Philosophically, homeopathy caters to the patient as a whole, as a person with feelings, dreams, opinions, capacities; conventional medicine splits the patient into symptoms, terms, diseases, labels. Homeopathy honors the person and restores true health, quality life. Whereas allopathic medicine has become a booming industry specializing in the *management* of disease. Not eradication. Suppression. Homeopathy has given me newfound vulnerability, courage, and respect for life - inexplicably, it's I that's changed. :) I wish you the same experience of true health restored: a sound mind, heart, and body.
So please don't take over a year like me, call as soon as you can. DR. J IS THE MAN!!!!!!!!! read more
