The Art is definitely a fusion - Muay Thai, BJJ, Wrestling, Boxing, Catch, Silat, Kali come in to play (to name a few.) I love the Sila Yoga. It definitely builds strength as well as flexibility, and I love the way it uses the animal movements and postures. I can't say enough good things about Jordan, Caleb, Thomas, Ryan and Riley. All the other coaches seem great too, but those are the ones I and my son interacted with the most. My teenager really enjoyed the classes--learning to push himself, develop new skills, and eventually, as he got into the adult classes, sparing. I wasn't interested in sparing or rising the ranks--which there is a lot of opportunity to do at McMahon. For me, however, it was more about physical fitness and trying something out of my comfort zone, and I was welcomed just the same. O'Hara Sensei brings over 18 years of martial arts training to bear.
