At 75 I must admit that I am a bit more stubborn than I used to be, not a big fan of change and I love ice cream. I was one of those people that thought if exercised and stayed in shape, I could basically eat anything I wanted and maintain "good" health while staying slim. That seemed true at least the slim part for about 40 years, then developed hypothyroid and gained 30 pounds almost overnight. Two years ago, I felt incredible after completing my Thrive Functional Wellness program. However, over the past few months, I've gained 10 pounds on my small frame by eating the wrong foods. One day I was swayed by all the talk of Hollywood types losing all this weight quickly and seemingly without effort or side effects. After the second injection, at the lowest dose, I became lethargic and my stools were nearly black. I had to add this part about elimination, because this is important and can be really harmful! I had no energy and all ambition was out the door. This self experiment gone wrong was with a program that offered Semaglutide. Next, I tried another program that nearly starved me. I lasted two weeks. They may as well have told me to eat erasers. I gained some courage and called the office and emailed Lorrie. Both my wife and I had been looking for a way to better our way of life and Thrive was a pyre in the sky for us. My wife is the reason I got into the program. She initiated contact with Thrive and I accompanied her to her result reading. Upon learning what the initial workings showed her, she insisted that I join her in this journey. I was having issues with my acne, it was getting really bad and was probably the worst my skin has ever been. Me and my parents decided it would be best to do some bloodwork and send it over to you guys so that I can get a more in-depth response to my results, rather than going to a regular doctor and them overlooking anything that might seem slightly abnormal. We thought since you guys helped catch my dad's Hashimoto's disease early on that you would also be able to catch whatever was going on internally with me that was causing my acne to flare up. We have had an association with the Rappe's for several years. First of all, for chiropractic work and then their new health and wellness program. We signed up in March of 2016. The cost seems like a lot, but when you follow the regime and gain health and wellness, it is worth every penny. I had type 2 diabetes when I began working with Thrive Functional Wellness Center. I say 'had' because I no longer have diabetes. I have been officially cleared by my GP. But it is Dr. Rappe and his team that help me completely reverse my diabetes in less than seven months. I have not been on any meds. Everything they did was natural - education, nutrition, exercise, and natural supplements. I've been going to Dr. Rappe for 8 years. I have adjustments and occasionally I have spinal decompression therapy. He listens and really zeros in on my aches and pains.
