Management, Staff, and Trainers have been perfectly nice in person when lessons are actually…read moreattended and appointments aren't repeatedly missed leaving trainers to believe you are showing for that lesson. Interactions seem much smoother when there's consistency in showing up. "If you're a No-Show please don't hesitate to contact management to reschedule, as I've had to do it once or twice." Please don't come in on days you're not scheduled (I learned this the hard way, they only have so many horses to let people train on). The trainers plan their day around the schedule, and unexpected arrivals cause confusion. Ive been taking lessons here as a beginner and the Trainers are very helpful on what you need to improve and give helpful tips on how to correct your mistakes. The lesson programs they offer are very well priced for learning how to ride. They have Trainers for every style of riding from Dressage, Western, English, and more. Also, the boarding is very reasonably priced, especially compared to other places around. It's honestly hard to find something this affordable without sacrificing the basics. If you're looking for a place to take lessons, board your horse, or do both, this is a solid option. The ranch has a comfortable, welcoming feel, and it works well for riders who want a consistent place to ride and care for their horse. I'd definitely recommend CJ's Legacy Ranch to anyone looking for lessons or boarding.

Certainly getting certified in Cozumel is an option with them but so is the Scuba Ranch in the Dallas area. I like to think if you can scuba in that lake you can scuba anywhere. The instructors were amazing and very accommodative to our needs. We opted to pay a little extra to do a a more private accelerated class. It did speed up the process and decreased the commutes out to the ranch. Fast forward to today and we continue diving. Their instruction and expectation setting has helped on many dives. Most recently I joined them on a liveaboard the MV Fling TX Caribbean out of Freeport TX. I have to say the diving conditions were amazing and who knew TX had such an amazing place to dive. It is a 6-8 hour boat ride out but totally worth it. Going with them also allowed me to expand my training and knowledge. There on the trip I did the nitrox and advanced diving. Once again the instruction was amazing and safety was always a priority. After doing 11 dives over 3 days I feel much more capable and ready for anything. Thanks to Gordon, Dick, Lance and Bob that are top notch. The shop is amazing and always full of suggestions.

I stayed at this campground for a few days, here are the pros and cons!…read morePros: We saw lots of wildlife!....a coyote, a hawk, a crane, ducks, and rabbits. The restrooms/showers were nice and clean. Playground on site. Lots of walking/hiking trails (some dirt and some were cement), boat ramp, dock, water and electric hookups. Cons: venomous copperhead snake was found two feet away from us in the middle of our campsite at night (we would not have known it was there if it wasn't for our dog). This was concerning because my toddler niece and the small dog had been walking right though that area. It was right next to our picnic table. Our campsite had a lot of dried leaves that made an ideal environment for the copperhead. There is not a real "beach" area, its red clay and not sandy or as gradual as I would have liked for a toddler to play in, I did not see any roped-off swim area. If you check out late they will charge you for another night even if you are just a few hours late and do not stay the night.
