Not sure I want to continue donating here because the state of the store was not very respectful of their clients. I'd hate to be enabling behavior that was hurtful to someone less well off who doesn't have choice about where to shop.

At what point did a thrift store stop being affordable? Goodwill is a nonprofit whose mission is supposed to help people overcome barriers and improve their lives through employment and other services. Yet walking through the store, I kept wondering how families who are actually struggling are supposed to afford these prices. And this isn't some tiny organization barely keeping the lights on. Goodwill Industries International, the national organization, reported approximately $92.6 million in revenue, and its CEO receives approximately $725,000 in total compensation a year. I understand that Goodwill has expenses, pays employees, operates programs, and that local Goodwill organizations are independently run. But when your merchandise is donated at no cost and you're charging $10 for an ordinary used tank top, something feels seriously wrong. People donate clothing believing they're helping their community. Many shoppers go to thrift stores because they genuinely need affordable clothing and household goods. Pricing basic donated items close to what someone can pay for new merchandise at a discount retailer completely defeats the purpose in my opinion. Goodwill needs to take a serious look at its pricing. There is a difference between generating revenue to fund your mission and pricing the very people who need affordable options out of your stores. I walked out feeling completely disgusted and disappointed.

I have been to the one in Tampa many times & it was also a good store, but did not have the furniture, that the Pasco store offers. I checked and it would cost more to buy their ripped, used shein clothing than it would to just buy brand new for shein. Also found a walmart brand tank that retails $2.98 brand new at walmart, priced for $5.99 here. Final straw was when I went in on a day accessories were 50% off and got several accessories. You can't see what prices are while they're being rung up, and I thought my total sounded high, so I asked for my receipt. They could only text it to me, and sure enough, only 1 out of the 4 accessories I got were discounted. Since I paid cash, I was told my only option was to pick out something else for that exact amount right then and there, which by then I had no interest in doing. Not sure if the pricing is done based on a company wide policy or what, but they have to work on either improving the quality of their inventory or lowering prices because as it stands, I don't think it's worth it to shop there :/ The individuals who work there seem lovely and the issues at hand seem to stem from blanket policies and decisions outside of their control.
