Threshers is great for bargain booze but not much else. It's not pretty, it's not stylish, it's certainly not subtle. But then maybe it's time shopping went back to basics. You want alocohol, you get it. The displays are clear, there are good promotions on wine and beer, for example: £6.50 for a 12-pack of Carlsberg or half-price wine of the month. It does some reasonable quality wines, but is also great for slightly unusual but very affordable bottles for dinner parties or just a treat.
There are also some snack foods at one side of the store, although they're just like a tiny bit of a motorway service station shop, so pop along to Subway down the road instead unless you're really in a hurry. read more
