I had developed high levels of trust regarding the quality of stock, staff knowledge and representation of products and the store standing behind the forgoing. I bought a pair of ($160) Birkenstock sandals that fell apart after 2 summers. I brought them, complete with the receipt, into the store where photos were taken, a commitment to bring the issues to the Birkenstock representative was made with a promise to get back to me. Months passed with nothing so I returned to the store and, in the absence of the staff member I spoke with earlier, I left a message. Months passed. I called and spoke with the staff member and then to Daniel who said he would look into it and get back to me... nothing. I returned to the store and left a message for Daniel. Now, following several weeks of silence, I have given up.

She had explained she had to enter it manually as they were a franchise and not a Corporate Store. No problem I said and was happy I could finally use my card. A few days later I went back to the store to make another purchase. When I went to pay I handed the cashier my Triangle card (the same cashier I had day previously) she looked right at me and said we don't take those. We are a Franchise store and not a corporate store. I said oh you just did it for me the other day. You had to enter it manually. She never said another word to me and would not make eye contact with me. When she was finished with my transaction she just shoved my stuff into a bag and then shoved it at me without a word. The cashier working beside her knew she was lying and never said a word. My husband just went back in the Penticton store to do a return and spoke to the assistant manager about this situation. All she could do was make up excuses and had no answer as to why the cashier would lie to a customer. My husband had the receipt with the triangle promotion on it and the other without. Lost our business for sure!!! Not the only store in this town that has lost our business. You people really must spend some money on training your staff. If your going to offer something to your customers you really should honor it.

It had everything in it- passport, Id, wallet, money etc. Someone had found it on the beach and taken it to Freeride, who then turned it into the police, and even tracked me down on Facebook in order to contact my employer to contact me so I'd know to go to police. I had to do extra work to find out who freerides was as they hadn't left contact info to take credit for their amazingly generous efforts on my behalf. Of course, visiting their store after this I was very delighted to have an excuse to purchase truly chic high quality shoes, bikini, and T-shirt.
