And wander I did in Churchill's, through shelf after shelf of fiction, non fiction, vintage titles. I eventually left with a paperback I'd never heard of, a first edition of one of my old favorites, and a cool 1980 comic book that just struck my fancy. But more than the things I bought, what I really found in the meandering shelves of this little bookshop was the sense that there could be some treasure waiting for me around the next corner. In this little space filled with books of all kinds, Churchill's captures the feeling of discovery that all good bookstores have and online bookstores just can't replicate. My kids weren't with me this time, but I could hear them as I wrapped up my visit to Churchill's bookshop. "Come ON Dad, let's goooo already." I had to smile. I can always tell it's a great bookstore when I can hear my kids telling me I've spent too long wandering its shelves.

It doesn't take long to figure out where things go in Encore Books. Pocket-sized paperbacks fill the shelves in the middle of the store, while larger paperbacks and hardcovers are placed around the edges. Sections are clearly defined and well-alphabetized, making it easy to see if they have something you're looking for. If you're having trouble finding something, the staff I spoke to was friendly and helpful - they'll set you right with a smile. With both used and new books on the shelves, the prices are quite reasonable. Their "blind date with a book" feature is a fun addition and a great way to encourage trying new books. While I often prefer a bookstore that encourages exploration and comes with a little mystery, a place like Encore Books is perfect when you're looking for that one book you can't seem to find anywhere else. They care about what they're doing, and it shows.

Better off finding a half priced book store in the other surrounding towns ! Or eBay! The worker said they don't look at pricing online they base it on how old the book is. So even a book that was from 2021 is way overpriced. Go in at your own risk but be ready for an ear full and not being able to talk. I'd recommend not bringing in any bags so you don't get stuck trying to ask for it back like I did.

The atmosphere is a combination of old charm (hardwood floors and finishes) and up-to-date books and merchandise. The salesperson was informative, friendly and kind. And they have cats!!!! Jerrol's also has a nice selection of foods, products, art supplies and much more. Its a small town feel type of establishment and everyone so far has been informative and friendly.
