Fairways at La Plata were sparse w/grass and the greens were small, hard, and poorly maintained. Several greens had bare spots and deep lines scored in them from improper mowing. When you weren't putting over the rough spots, they did roll true. Tee boxes were full of weeds and in below avg shape, markers weren't put on both sides of tee box, and no water in any ball washers. Sand traps were not mowed, trimmed, raked or properly maintained. The sand was hard. Yardage markers in the fairway weren't trimmed or freshly painted - so they were not easy to see. The topography, sight lines, and layout of La Plata is average. Sun Valley in Elsberry and Eagle's Bluff near Clarksville both have better layouts & topography and both offer spectacular sight lines compared to La Plata. The shots over water into #10, the second par 5, and the par 3 on the back nine are scenic and challenging. Battery powered Club Car died in the middle of the back nine. The lady and young girl at clubhouse were very nice. Overall, very disappointing for the drive and price so we won't be returning.
