Great place great vibe great class welcoming environment. Cool spot great design. Can't wait to go back

The best thing about this place is that it's clean and everything's white so you can see stains lol aside from that... the coworkers have a weird staring problem. It's uncomfortable and not "intuitive" it's creepy. Also got more expensive so that sucks too. read more

One of my favorite places in the entire world. From the café, to the yoga and meditation classes, to the ACI courses, to the MTT - I have found my place in the Three Jewels community and I don't know what I did before them. I have spent many years looking for a feeling of belonging in this vast world (especially in NYC) and 3J has welcomed me with open arms. I know that I always have a place to go whether it's in NYC or virtually, Three Jewels has become a refuge for me. I am eternally grateful for this space and the people who make this community what it is. 3J helped me to deepen my understanding of meditation, Buddhism, and of myself. Thank you thank you thank you. read more

We're living in a weird world currently, but this weird world allowed me to take a virtual yoga class with Three Jewels via my ClassPass account. I may not have found it otherwise. Wow...I didn't think I could fall this in love with a place I didn't even step foot in. But, I'm smitten. They have an impressive amount of livestream classes happening to build a yoga community online, and I'm now one of those community members, because I'll totally be back. To begin, Yin yoga classes are really difficult to find where I live. You can tell the difference quickly between a bad Yin teacher and a good one. Sara was excellent! Her teaching style really spoke to me. She was gentle, kind, used beautiful instruction and I could really feel her warmth. The quality of the video was solid, too. Three Jewels is a nonprofit enlightenment center through the practice of yoga, meditation, and Buddhist philosophy. According to their site, "Three Jewels serves over 5,000 students per year, offers more than 50 classes per week, and provides services to the city and internationally by giving free meditation and yoga classes to homeless families, school teachers, children, people recovering from addiction, trauma-sensitive care to refugees and earthquake survivors, and much more. It is also run almost entirely by volunteers!" The next time I'm in New York, I'm going to out of my way to ensure I make time to attend a class here. The photos of their studio look just beautiful. read more

This community works effortlessly to support and elevate any person who engages with the studio. With the studio being run almost entirely by volunteers its a special feeling to interact with people who are giving their knowledge and time out of love and nothing else. From experience, the teachers care personally about the spiritual journey of their students and continuously invite the students to understand their minds and hearts on a deeper level. read more

I LOVE this yoga studio! The instructors are some of the best I've ever had and the small classes allow for the instructors to provide individual attention to each student. They are not only trained to help align your physical body to the proper form and breathing technique, they all demonstrate a true understanding of the mental and emotional aspects of yoga and help you develop both your physical and mental growth in a gentle and compassionate way. I walk out of each class with a new perspective and a sense of calm and peace that I have yet to find with any other studios I have tried. If you are even slightly considering adding yoga to your life, I highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

So this review is for the Dharma teachings at Three Jewels It is my good fortune to find the Three Jewels in New York. I have tried to study Buddhism for a long time, but always find the teachings complex and cryptic. The amazing teachers at Three Jewels, the two I have met, lama Chunzom and Hector are just amazing. They both breakdown complex teachings, that one can understand and apply directly to their daily lives. The teachers compassion and their genuine desire to help really comes through. The staff I believe are all volunteers, all very friendly and cordial read more

I've been a huge fan of Three Jewels and it's run by volunteers. They have built a great community for yogis and meditators....excellent teachers and everyone is super friendly. The place has great energy, beautiful design and truly a peaceful oasis to chill from the busy city. read more

I had the chance to try a class at their new space and loved it ! Stephen, the manager is very welcome and responsive. The space is open and has a comforting scent, with an area with tables in the front and a back area to change / cubbies / bathrooms (large, clean and well stocked !) before you get to the studio itself. Class itself was wonderful - Javier introduced new poses I haven't tried before, plus gave great hands on adjustments that helped me stretch deeper than I have before. I left class feeling uplifted, relaxed, stronger and more flexible ! Can't wait to come back. read more

A place that feels right in all the ways -- depth, heart, quality....most life changing spot in NYC....feels like home.

Three Jewels is home to a spectrum of individuals who are genuinely kind, caring and super cool. It's the kind of place you walk in and people greet you and invite you to sit down to hang out and chat. The Little Skips x Three Jewels cafe in the front is intimate and bright. The menu serves up your basic necessities of caffeinated and non-caffeinated products. Try the vegan bone broth! The studio space in the back is the womb where many different programs and classes are offered - Dharma/Philosophy classes, Lectures, Yoga, Pranayama, Asana, and Meditation. It's a beautiful white and bright space of illumination. There are all new yoga mats, meditation cushions, bolsters, cork blocks and straps for all students to use. They offer a great monthly membership deal where certain classes and programs are free or are discounted. Definitely worth the investment in your mind, body and spirit! Love this space and the people who make up the community. Come in, hang out and discover a new family of friends. read more

The number one place in NYC to access authentic Buddhist dharma, taught in a way that is un-intimidating and accessible, even if you're entirely new to Buddhist. I can't write accurately how important and life changing this space has been, because it would probably seem too good to be true. I have found community and purpose at Three Jewels in a way that I never was able to fund anywhere else. I have met some of my most valued friends here. I met valuable teachers and practitioners here. And I volunteered here for 6 or 7 years before accepting a position here. I absolutely can NOT recommend the space more. You can learn Buddhist dharma, and yoga that is not neutered from it's gorgeous spiritual heritage and culture. Meditation that is steeped in the Buddhist lineage from His Holiness. Also: good coffee! Three Jewels now is streaming ALL their classes online and the best thing is THEYRE FREE CLASSES. read more

My review is long overdue for this amazing yoga studio. I was in New York for a few months this past winter and Three Jewels was my haven for grounding and clearing my mind and body of the city stress. The teachers are caring and the practices varied. There is something for every state of mind and level. The studio is small and intimate but not overcrowded. The staff are all very sweet and welcoming and it was always a pleasure going there, even just for a coffee or tea. It is also one of the most affordable yoga studios in the city, especially given the quality of the classes and the general atmosphere of the place. I am delighted to have chosen Three Jewels and will again next time I am in NYC and the studio has reopened. read more

I went here today for a meditation class, and decided to do a yoga class with Christine a half hour after the half hour meditation class ended.I have to say that I love the people that work here. The students that come here are kind souls. The whole place is designed in an industrial zen way. Minimalism at its best. If you want to find a safe haven that will help you to stay sane, in shape and healthy in a city as crazy and intense as New York city, then search no more. My best friend signed up for the 3 weeks unlimited package for $40,- as well while she was visiting from Europe, and she has been going every day. She even committed to the 10 day meditation challenge. read more

I cannot recommend this place enough! I purchased the $50 3-Week unlimited and it was the best decision I've ever made. I've attended both yoga and meditation classes. Amazing, caring, and kind instructors. They also have a café when you walk in! Coffee is delicious! Will definitely purchase the Monthly unlimited once this 3 week trial is over. read more

The Three Jewels is an oasis of peace and quiet in the middle of downtown Gotham. It changed the life of myself and many people I know. The Friday night meditation program is led by a true meditation master, a monk named Venerable Puntsok. He is the real deal and has been humbly sharing his mastery with others for about twenty years. There are many other great programs there throughout the week; yoga, acupuncture, morning meditation, and more. The Asian Classics Institute leads unparalleled Buddhist philosophy courses regularly. These are priceless. The doors of this place have been miraculously kept open for close to twenty years (almost nine at this location and another eight or so at it's previous location on 5th Street). When you consider how little it charges for programs, it is a miracle that The Three Jewels continues to remain open. Yet it does, bringing so many people together to learn the truths of the world. The Three Jewels is run on the Buddhist principal that no one should be denied learning spiritual truths because of money. For this reason The Three Jewels charges incredibly little for it's programs. Part of the magic of this place happens when you begin volunteering there and relearning the art of Seva, or selfless service. If you have a few thousand dollars or more and have been looking for a good organization to donate to, this would be the one. This little "Place of Refuge" has changed the lives of thousands. read more

This is a very special place for me, because it's where I started really getting into mindfulness meditation. The place welcomes everyone and makes no distinction of how much of can donate for the classes. I've attended a couple of meditation classes, all of them with different instructors, and they were all different an positive on their way. The decoration is very simple and it makes me feel out of NY for a while. It's worth to check it out! read more

An amazing yoga studio!! I go there for early morning meditation and I always feel refreshed after. The staff are very helpful and have you checked in right away. It is also very clean which is a huge plus. The only downside is that it gets extremely hot in there. read more

This is truly a 'jewel' of a community center. I wouldn't exactly call it a religious organization however I could not figure out how to properly categorize it. It is really a community center, offering guided meditation, a space for personal mediation, yoga classes, as well as a bookstore and various other classes. I personally have attended meditation classes (guided and personal) and think its a peaceful space to practice or learn, beginners are encouraged and just as welcome as long time practitioners read more

You gotta check this place out! If there was a Three Jewels on every corner like there are Starbucks and Chase banks New York City would be one Super Happy family. Charming, Humble and kept alive entirely by volunteers, some of the happiest people to walk the streets of NY. The Three Jewels functions like a community center and offers awesome classes such as Yoga, Meditation, Philosophy, AA, Massage, Acupuncture, Dancing, Ayurvedic/ Macrobiotic diet, Movie nights, you name it you can probably find someone at the Three jewels to teach/share it. The majority of the classes are free if not by suggested donation and the doors are open to anyone and everyone. Seriously! I stumbled into the Three Jewels over three years ago and am forever grateful to my good friend that introduced us. http://www.threejewels.org/ read more
