YELP - Here is pic of brochure of this RV park. Please update this site with correct info
    Jim B.

This is an old RV Park with a lot of great old trees and it has the Peace River running through it. You can see gators sunning on the river bank on a sunny day. There are fossils to be found in the river bed. The grounds are well maintained and there are a lot of sites (I think it is over 300 sites). I'm in a site with 50 Amp electric and have water and sewer hook up. (some sites have only 30 AMP and some have no sewer). The staff is friendly and helpful and there is always someone around to answer any questions during the day. The people staying here are friendly and cool. There are shuffle board courts, bocci ball pits, horseshoe pits, pickle ball courts. There is a mini golf (Put Put) area. There is even a small dog park. The swimming pool is nice and clean and water temp is great. There is an outdoor Jacuzzi also. There are laundry rooms, meeting rooms, and a lounge with Wifi and TV and pool tables. The office has some items for sale that are useful. (no beer or food aside from ice cream) There are often things going on here - Pot Luck dinners, music and dancing on Friday or Sat night, A happy hour at the fire pit with snacks to be cooked on the fire or shared. I love the trails that go along the Peace River. They are loaded with cool palms and oaks and there are birds and animals to be seen. There are some cool towns and places to explore nearby. Wauchula has some great restaurants and shops. Arcadia - 15 min drive has tons of antique shops and great restaurants. There are lots of orange groves around and cattle ranches and horse farms around. There are lakes nearby to explore and Sebring is not far and is a cool old town to visit. There are a few things I don't like about the park. There is no cable TV at the sites. There is no WIFI at the sites. (I am used to having both at most places I've been in the 10 weeks I've been on the road so far. One thing I don't like is the spike mechanism at the gate. (if some one tried to come in the wrong way it would puncture all your tires. I've only seen that type of thing at Military Bases and it is too destructive for an RV park. I saw a kid skate boarding and almost land on the spikes - not cool. The gate code is changed every week also and makes for a hassle getting in when you don't know the new code. Update - I'm now going to address recycling at the RV Parks I visit. This park has no bins to put recycle materials. (I think most RV'rs would like to be able to recycle and help the environment) All in all - I think this is a great park and with a few minor improvements could be one of the best. I am here for my second 2 week visit and will be here for Christmas. I will look forward to staying here again. I've been adding photos.

    Campfire Fun

This was just the kind of campground we were looking for. We found a shady spot with ample room betweneighboring campers. It was really peaceful. Our 4 year olds grandson loves it. He biked, scootered, helped get wood for our fires and used the playground. There was plenty to do in the area too. We will definitely return.

This is a great location. However, the current manager is ruining guest's camping experience.

Siesta Beach Experience…read more Overview: Siesta Beach is widely recognized as the number one beach in the United States. During our visit, we found the beach area to be exceptionally clean, featuring powdery white sand that added to the overall appeal of the location. The unique sand texture and well-maintained environment contributed significantly to our enjoyable experience. Parking and Arrival Tips: We parked near the Snack Bar and Gift Shop at the northern end of Siesta Beach. Although there is a substantial amount of parking available, the spaces tend to fill up quickly, especially during peak times. It is advisable to arrive early to secure a parking spot, as finding a vacant space can become challenging later in the day. Water Quality and Shoreline Experience: The water at Siesta Beach was exceptionally clear, offering excellent visibility. Near the shore, the depth was shallow, making it easy and comfortable to relax in the low points. The waves were gentle and calm, creating an inviting environment for lounging and wading. During our stroll along the beach, we discovered several shells, adding an enjoyable element to the shoreline experience. Beach Access and Amenities: Reaching the water requires a lengthy walk across the beach. To assist visitors, mats are placed at certain locations on the beach, making the walk easier and more comfortable. The Snack Bar offers a variety of food and drinks, providing convenient options for refreshments. Adjacent to the Snack Bar is a Gift Shop, which sells a range of beach-themed items and clothing, enhancing the Siesta Beach Experience. They do have a QR code they you can order food, drinks, beach chairs and some other items to be delivered to you behind the life guard stands on the Beach in case you forget your own, kind of cool, I think. Overall Impression and Rating: Based on my experience at Siesta Beach, I confidently rate it 5 out of 5 stars. The exceptional cleanliness, powdery white sand, clear water, and convenient amenities all contributed to an outstanding visit. After seeing firsthand why Siesta Beach holds the distinction of being the number one beach in the United States, I wholeheartedly agree with its reputation. Gulf Coast Terry

We drove around for about 20 minutes, looking for parking till we finally found a couple that was leaving. No matter what time you visit it's busy but the beach itself it's definitely worth it. !! A little warning it was a bit of a walk to get to the water. This is my favorite kid friendly beach. The water doesn't dip off like Venice and You can actually walk out comfortably with children. Another pro is that there's plenty of shower areas throughout the beach line. Ps: On Sundays they have a drum circle which is always a good time to see people drumming and dancing.

Payne's Creek State Park is a historical center in Bowling Green Florida - Who knew this place even…read moreexisted. The only reason I found out about it is because a Facebook friend of mine let me know they were offering Ghostwalks during the month of October due to the high spirit activity on the land. Legend has it that some Renegade Seminole Indians once came to trade at the little grocery on the property, but trading wasn't what they had in mind. Instead they ambushed the whites and killed them, taking their child with them to Tampa. In late 1849 Fort Chokonikla was built, and though the Indian's never attacked it, it was nearly destroyed by Mosquitoes. The restless spirits of soldiers who died of infected mosquito bites and boredom seem to wander about. No one knows for sure where their bodies are truly interred. The walk sometimes takes you to the youth camp about a mile away, on Payne's Creek itself where Mary Jane is said to have perished when she swung out over the creek on a rope swing and got caught in one of Florida's many shallow limestone caves. Divers tried to rescue her lifeless form but they too, got caught - because in those days the tanks and suits were heavy and bulky - far from the stream lined things of today, and they drown as well. Their spririts are said to roam as well. The information we were given, the tools we were allowed to use and the pictures we took were all interesting. I can't say I saw anything paranormal or super natural. What I can tell you is that it was a good time with friends. It was a lovely evening under the blood moon and it was totally worth the $5 I paid for the tourguides time.

We travel often for competitions and this by far has been the best place we've stayed at in Southern Florida. The community is well maintained as were the amenities. Having a cottage versus a hotel room was the best. The one bedroom was perfect for us (2 adults + toddler). Stores are close and convenient....and the best thing. NO DIRTY CLOTHES to bring home. There is a washer and dryer in the cottage as well. Love this property and so grateful we found it. Will highly recommend anyone book here as well we are already looking forward to a return trip.

Arbor Terrace claims they can accommodate 45' RVs, but it is simply just TOO tight, with unlevel lots you'll sink in. Go elsewhere! Campground employees asked us to move TWICE during our six-day stay... It was hard enough getting into the one spot we were already in, but the space they wanted us to move to was even tighter! We had to refuse moving, because we just would not have fit & would've hung up our rig. Next door neighbor told us big RVs get stuck in the lots fairly often here. It's a really nice park, overall: clean, quiet, friendly... but the infrastructure fits smaller sized campers, best.

We had full hookups that were in good condition. There was a picnic table and grass on the door side and a beautiful palm tree on the driver's side. It was a nice area to put chairs and enjoy the lake or there were benches to sit and relax. There was a pool and other amenities that we did not try but looked nice.
