There is a seating area both inside and outdoors to eat at. They serve a lifesaving full English breakfast at a reasonable price, and can be responsible for reactivating your brain, following a night out. The other side of Yum Yum is a convenience store, selling fresh fruit and vegetables, pastries, tinned goods, various snacks and a range of wines and beers. They are significantly overpriced, but that is the cost of convenience. I also think their nearby rival Simpsons stock a far better range of products. All in all, it is a useful place to have around, but there are superior alternatives in the area.

The saviour of so many lunchtimes has been Yum's. They never fail to have something interesting on offer. There are usually several hot options such as pasta bake, burritos and a roast pork baguettes and a couple of really good sandwich specials. Highlights for me have included pulled pork with salad and chipotle mayo and ham, smoked cheese and onion marmalade both on sourdough baguettes. The footling hotdog was also a touch. You can also have your own sandwich made, they have loads of filling options and the cakes look awesome- its like subway if subway sold proper food! They do a large range of American sweets and drinks although every other shop in Leeds seems to offer these now. Yum's also have a massive selection of beers and I believe they open for dinner in the evenings doing pizza etc, if I lived at brewery wharf I wouldn't need to go anywhere else! They are a little expensive when you consider a meal deal at Sainsbury's is three quid but what you get is vastly superior. One of their daily special sandwiches and a can of coke will set you back about a fiver which is pretty good as you'll get something really tasty you will actually enjoy!

I nipped in here for some basics and was really pleased to find that they sell Clover, a small and very specific point I know, but it seems all other places nearby to me have ceased to sell this most coveted butter brand! I was really pleased. They also have a grand fruit and veg section, though not as wide and fresh as Oakwood fruits, a good selection of handy quick meals, cereals and more. There are also feed 4 for £4 deals, which seems to be their answer to Sainsburys feed your family for a fiver deal, which isn't bad! As well as all this the shop assistant was really sweet and friendly, offering up a bit of harmless banter as I purchased my goods. All in all, a pretty fair place to purchase some goods!

The food selection isn't bad and it's of the same quality as a big supermarket. They always ID me even though I am approaching 30 but I don't mind as it means you don't have the usual drunken kids hanging out side. What is great is the staff, they are always very helpful, keen to chat and makes buying your tea bags a little bit fun.

So first up I needed some liquid refreshment and Truffles was on hand. It is a lovely coffee and tea shop which has the desired caffeine based products for me. They've got a wide range of coffees (though I seldom stray from a fine black little number), teas and hot chocolate that looks awesome. You'll also get a complimentary Belgian Chocolate. Now we're talking. For a food fix get your laughing gear around one of the scones, teacakes, croissants freshly made sandwiches and Paninis, jacket potatoes, cakes or even a slab of gateaux. Then we move onto the trump card. The mouth watering and vast selection of Belgian chocolates. I had to leave with a few truffles and nut numbers. It would be rude not to. They're all there, old or new, and they're all used, with a mixture of milk, ice cream, biscuits, syrup and real fruit, to create sumptuous milkshakes. Galaxy. Bueno. Wispa. Yorkie. Even Battenburg. The menu is ridiculously extensive, and for a large milkshake of any variety, you will pay the reasonable sum of around £3. New businesses akin to Jakes are springing up all over the place, as custom-made milkshakes become more and more popular. I have tried a couple of other places along the same lines as Jakes, but because of the effort and creativty of Jakes (along with the classy 1950s retro decor), nowhere comes close.

Making milkshakes out of popular chocolate bars like Milkybars, Aeron, Twix or KitKat. They use the products to make the milkshakes, so it isn't like the boring mars bar milk you find in pertol station refridgeorators. Cereal flavours are popular too with Frosties, Coco pops or even Weetabix available. Prefer your shake or smoothie to be fruity? Then try pineapple, banana or peach amongst others. Cakes and desserts are on the menu too. I would reccommend coming here for dessert. Skip dessert elsewhere and get a dessert flavour shake like apple pie, chocolate brownie or carrot cake? Biscuits like jaffa cakes or custard creams are part of the 200+ flavours too.
