Arc Thrift Store - How fun!

I needed the space back and there was not a single place in Boulder still taking this category. Arc Thrift was recommended by the place near my home where I usually donate. This Louisville location was the closest as their Boulder location closed years ago when the property it was on was sold. I called ahead, got directions as I was not familiar with the area or the shopping center it was in. They were very helpful and professional on the phone. It took a while for me to get an arrangement with someone to get it out of the 2nd floor of our house and into one of our vehicles in which it would fit. We called ahead the other day when I finally had someone lined up to help, to see if they had help to unload it at their location. We found the place easily, no line or wait on a weekday morning, and they brought someone out immediately who was very capable of the lift, no damage to it and quite thankful. We were done and on our way in less than 5 minutes. All of the donation area was really was neat and clean and seemed very well organized. A good place if you live nearby or worth the trip for a hard to donate item. And they support a good cause.

Alexa helped me navigate what I think is among the toughest career moves: shifting to a different…read morerole in a new industry. Alexa's incredibly personable and genuinely wanted to get to know me and my story. She digs below surface-level discussion by using various tools to help with deeper contemplation and discussion about values and how they shaped my career goals. Also, on a practical level, Alexa is one of those great "connector" types. She seems to know someone in every industry/company in town (not exaggerating). I'm much happier now primarily because I'm better matched in an industry/role that fits my personality. I strongly recommend Alexa to anyone who's exploring a new career direction or just needs a boost with their job hunt.

She helped me with crafting an updated resume, updating my professional social account, and creating a killer cover letter template. With Alexa's encouragement, my self confidence increased and within no time I had landed a great new gig and even negotiated my salary. About a year and a half later, I realized I wanted to take a new direction with my career, and again I turned to Alexa for guidance. She helped me to identify aspects of my previous jobs that I loved and ones I didn't care for, and expanded my knowledge about what was out there that would be a good fit for me. I ended up finding a job I truly love that combines my greatest professional strengths. I cannot recommend Alexa and Loken Careers more to anyone who is struggling with finding their "calling" or just looking for a better situation. Pro tip: do the homework! ;)

The staff is pleasant and the volunteers are informative. We had a lovely walk. I like the rubber-like surface that has been added to the walkway. They are always improving. We saw many animals out enjoying the early morning breeze before the heat of the day. By the time we got back to our vehicle it was getting quite warm. Always a great experience.

I don't know where all of their funding comes from, specifically, but they say a lot of private donors, including visitors like us! :) The walkway you walk on during the visit is pretty cool, just because you can see from a unique perspective that a regular "zoo", which is from above! In the sunny Colorado weather, it does get hot. It also might be windy up there, so as you should anywhere in the state, bring layers! I hope they can expand the walkway and make it a big loop instead of an in-and-out. They have little places to stop along the way and a small cafe at the end before you head back. Definitely try the local CO ice pops they have in the cooler, they are so good and much better than anything you'll buy in a chain grocery store. We saw lions, tigers, bears, foxes, wolves -- some of them just laying/sleeping. The black bears I didn't realize got along so well that one enclosure could house around 20 of them. One bear was enjoying the pool, lol. There's a video to watch before going on the journey and it explains how when animals first arrive, they start in a smaller space to get acclimated and eventually grow into a larger long-term space. It makes perfect sense. These poor animals ruined by humans. They said a lot of the "Tiger King's" tigers they've taken in, as well. So don't pay to pet those baby tigers anymore, y'all, you are literally ruining their adult lives (the majority of their lives). In the main building at the start, there is also another cafe, an ice cream shop (I got some, yum!), and a gift shop. Please give them a visit!

Five-Star Review for Adam Sloat - Exceptional Real Estate Agent in Boulder…read more I had the pleasure of working with Adam Sloat over a 6-7 month period while searching for a condo for my student attending CU Boulder--and I cannot recommend him highly enough. From our very first remote interaction, Adam demonstrated outstanding engagement, responsiveness, and a deep understanding of the Boulder real estate market. Because I was unable to travel to Boulder myself, Adam took the initiative to personally visit and video record no fewer than 8-9 properties, providing detailed walk-throughs and thoughtful commentary that helped me feel fully informed from a distance. His superior communication skills made what could have been a stressful, long-distance search process feel manageable and even enjoyable. Adam's knowledge of the local market is top-tier. He consistently offered strategic advice, flagging potential issues and opportunities with clarity and professionalism. When it came time to negotiate, Adam managed the process seamlessly--balancing assertiveness with diplomacy and always keeping my best interests front and center. Beyond his real estate expertise, Adam is simply a great guy--friendly, genuine, and an absolute pleasure to work with. His professionalism is matched by a personal warmth that made the entire experience feel collaborative and supportive. If you're looking for a highly capable, trustworthy, and personable real estate agent in the Boulder area, look no further than Adam Sloat. He's truly the best.
