We have ordered cookies from her for a housewarming gift, and didn't have a clue as to what to get. Well it was Emily to the rescue! She had the idea to do cookies in the shape of keys, and also a front door with a wreath on it!! Since I'm not very creative, she was able to just put it ALL together (even the colors!) for me just right off the bat!! They couldn't have been more adorable, and everyone loved their sugar cookies; I felt like the hero all night, and I didn't even do anything but buy them, haha! We'd also gotten a simple cake from Emily a couple years ago for my friend's first birthday party. It was only about 10 people, so my friend didn't want anything over-the-top; she just wanted a really small cake that would be cute for pics. My friend's dad had passed away right before this, and he was a fireman, so Emily created the perfect little cake, designed perfectly for her little guy. On top of that, it was chocolate and delicious!! We've also gotten her holiday cookies-- she sells out SUPER quickly, so make sure you place an order in time! We missed out one year because we waited until the last minute. They're the cutest things I've ever seen!! We will ALWAYS be patronizing Emily, and we feel lucky to have our "own dessert chef" from now on! Enter collaborations with some of my favorite businesses in the area. The one that caught my eye was a joint venture with Revelry, Nouvelle, and Sweets by Millie. Their special for this pandemic was a Wino & Dino gift set. You get a special bottle of wine from Nouvelle, a Dino succulent from Revelry, and 6 cupcakes from Sweets by Millie. This is my favorite thing from the pandemic right now. The sparkling bottle of rose from Nouvelle was elegant and beautiful. The dinosaur succulent is fun, whimsical and will continue to remind me of this sense of solace for as long as I can keep the plant alive. Finally, the cupcakes. Oh my goodness. These were out of this world amazing. 2 vanilla, 2 strawberry and 2 chocolate. If you want absolute perfection, these cupcakes are it. One of the biggest misconceptions I've encountered in conversation about Glow Worm is that people don't realize that while being incredibly convenient for Glow Worm customers, Staggeringly Delicious is an entirely separate establishment. You don't need to be at the play cafe to get some of what truly is staggeringly delicious. The chocolate chip cookies, arguably the best in the city, seem to be one of the best kept secrets in Louisville. They're made with brown butter, triple chocolate, and topped with just the right amount of sea salt. I'm a big fan of blueberry and lemon desserts, but everything everyone else does, well...they just seems to do better. Their frittatas are phenomenal. It seems like pretzel buns are becoming more and more popular, but having them made fresh is just superior. The breakfast panini and turkey panini are crunchy, gooey, savory, and hit the spot every single time. Every time I order, I'm satisfied. It's consistent. It's affordable. I don't feel guilty when I eat there. I don't feel guilty when I feed it to my family. Sadly, that's becoming hard to come by. If you're near the Highlands and you're jonesing for a simple lunch or a treat, put this place on your radar. Don't be dissuaded by the play cafe sign out front. The play cafe is absolutely second-to-none, but you don't need a kid or play date to enjoy Staggeringly Delicious.
