I left this place disappointed and almost in tears because of how I was treated. I am not one for confrontation and have never left a 1 star review before, but this experience was next level terrible! I took a dress in to be altered and agreed upon what needed to be done. When I came in to pick it up I tried it on and there were a couple of small things I was not happy with, as it seemed quite rushed and unfinished. I was very calm and respectful when asking for a few changes. The guy there, whose name I didn't catch, took the dress back in a huff and quickly sewed the other edge. I then looked again & there was all this extra material that was sticking out. He took it back & cut it very quickly and then came out and tried to shove the dress in the bag and get me to pay. I said, can I please take another look. At this point, he started to get very rude and told me that if I wanted anything else done, I need to pay an extra $25. I usually would have no problem with this, but I said to him that I don't see why I need to pay an extra $25 if the original work they agreed upon was not done properly. He told me it was not agreed upon & that he did not like 'cheap' people. Eventually after some back and forth, I said to him that I have never had someone be so rude to me before, to which he responded "I am rude to rude people". I paid for it, without getting the extra changes done and regretted paying for this unfinished work immediately. But honestly I was just in shock & so upset that I wasn't thinking straight & just wanted to get out of there. I don't think it is unreasonable to question something I'm unhappy with if the work was not done as agreed & done poorly. I just cannot believe how I was treated and hope that the same thing does not happen to someone else. read more

My fiance took her wedding dress in for alterations. Long story short the owner messed it up, said he can't do what she wanted and charged her almost $200. She than searched for somew else and found out First Comes Love does dress alterations. They were able to talk her through what she wanted done, luckily was able to fix what Thompson Tailors did to the dress. They said a week, instead had it for months. We just went back to show him it could be done and get a refund from him and he was not at all cooperative. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. If it was a zipper or a pair of pants I probably wouldn't be talking g the time to write this but thos is unacceptable. read more
