Dr. Karin is one of my top two doctors, and her assistants are the best of the best. Her diagnosis is spot on. She is almost always available when I have issues. She returns my phone message or email within an hour or two. If I am on some prescription, I would get a follow up call a few days later to see how I respond to the drug. Her assistants are equally caring and attentive. The whole office is wonderful. [And she is model-caliber beautiful to boot. Not that it's important. Yeah, western medicine and the lack of tangible options? One point off for that, but it's not really their fault.

I arranged for a follow-up appointment with Jessica on Monday, June 29, 2020. Since the office does not take Medicare I pay for my consultations up front in cash. For this telephone consultation I paid $175.00 by credit card in advance over the phone at 2:00 p.m. Jessica was scheduled to call me at 2:15 p.m. By 3:00 p.m. I had not received a call. I called the office to determine what the delay was. I had waited for Jessica for 45 minutes or more in the past at in-office appointments so I had assumed that she was held up with another patient and would call me after.) When I reached the office I was told that she had been trying to reach me during the 45 minutes and I had not answered. I told them that I had been sitting, waiting with my phone in hand. They found that they had written my cell phone number down incorrectly in their records and had been calling a wrong number. They then told me that the next available appointment I would be able to have would be in August, a full six weeks out in the future. Since I was available for the consultation and they were not able to reach me due to an error in their records, I asked them to credit my visa card for the $175.00 charge. They refused! They indicated that I should have called the office to inquire why they hadn't called earlier than 45 minutes and intimated that it was somehow my fault that the consultation didn't go through. They said they would hold my money as a credit to my next appointment in August. This meant that I would have paid out money 6 weeks in advance of any services rendered. This didn't make any sense to me, since I wasn't at fault for the consultation not going forward and I hadn't received anything for the $175.00 I paid out. When I expressed my need to have that refund put through, they again refused. Needless to say, I have severed my relationship with this office. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

First let me state, our visit with Dr. Cury was at the Community Health Center in Arroyo Grande…read more(1057 Grand Ave). Our 16yo daughter had fallen and had a rather impressive gash on her head. It was obvious that she would require a couple stitches. We are uninsured and were encouraged to take her to CHC because of their "sliding scale" fee schedule. We were in the exam room, for less than five minutes, when Dr. Cury entered. He smiled and asked what happened. We explained how she injured herself. He nodded and then leaned over to look at her wound. Without skipping a beat, and with all the "doctor authority" he could muster, he nodded and said, "yes, it looks like we'll have to remove the head". We all broke into laughter. Our daughter was immediately put at ease. The levity of the situation was alleviated with his bedside manner/humor. He was very careful to ask our daughter how she was doing during the whole procedure. When he gave her the shot to numb her, she didn't even feel it. In total, she received three stitches and a prescription for antibiotics. All the time she was being treated, Dr. Cury was professional and friendly....sprinkling just enough humor to keep everyone lighthearted. We are relatively new to the Central Coast. This was our first doctor visit since moving here a year ago. If I ever need a doctor again, I will first seek out Dr. Cury.
