I have had two successful surgeries performed by Dr. Garner. Both of which exceeded my…read moreexpectations. I have also had non-surgical procedures done (Botox) in his office over a few years (sadly I now go somewhere over the hill closer to where I work). Dr. Garner is an honest and intelligent doctor. He is knowledgeable, kind, and capable. His office is clean and staff caring and helpful. Beyond my two surgeries, Dr. Garner has consulted me on a major surgery that I got elsewhere. He was available, confident, and took the time necessary to answer all of my questions. I think that he is a great resource to have if you are considering plastic surgery. I just can't say enough good things about him, and the rest of the office as well.

Open Letter to Dr. Garner…read more Hello Dr. Garner, It took me more than 10 years to summon the strength to write you this letter. The rhinoplasty you gave me in 2012 was an absolute disaster. I was only 21 years old and needed your help in making the best decision for myself at the time. You failed as a clinician to do this; you failed to guide me in the process. As a result of the rhinoplasty: 1. I looked and felt terrible with a dreadful "ski slope" nose. 2. I looked many years younger as a result of my new nose. 3. My breathing was not improved, despite your assurances. I lost so much of the character of my face which, in turned, helped ruin my stage acting career. Your negligence in counseling me about how the rhinoplasty would actually impact my appearance was particularly devastating. You never mentioned to me that my nose would become feminine and like a "ski slope," and not just be straight and/or masculine. You never cautioned me about how it would make me look years younger (Which has hurt my professional career prospects - I am constantly mistaken to be a decade younger than I am and passed over for promotions). You never warned me that it could take away character from my face and image. And most egregiously, you could and should have used photo editing technology to help me visualize how I would look hypothetically with a different nose. This is industry standard! I would never ever have pursed this surgery if I knew what the result would be. It was one of the worst mistakes of my life. I am exploring all recourse options now, including revision rhinoplasty but also legal action to get some remedy for all I have lost. I can't imagine how your work has hurt other people with your lack of transparency. Your deeply saddened former patient, Albert

I drove over 30 minutes one way and had to fill out a ton of paperwork for the 1 simple question I had. I had to wait past my scheduled appointment time. Upon entering the consult room, I was immediately handed 2 brochures (without anyone looking at my skin) and told they really only offer 1 service for the face. The consult was maybe 5 minutes at the most (and that's because I asked questions). It wasn't a true consult. I could have saved a lot of time and unnecessary paperwork (identify theft is real these days) if they could have just answered my question over the phone in 10 seconds. On principle, I won't be receiving services from this place and will look elsewhere.

I paid my consultation fee and showed up to my appointment only to have the doctor walk in and inform me that they don't offer that treatment. So I received no consultation or exam, yet they kept my consultation fee, despite the fact that they knew which treatment I wanted, they don't even do it there, and the doctor spoke to me for all of 2 minutes, if that. I was very clear in advance about the treatment that I was booking an appointment for. Apparently it was just a mixup on their end and those I spoke with weren't aware that the treatment isn't something that Ultraderm does. But they never refunded the consultation fee, which I think is unethical to say the least. I spoke to someone who said that they would follow up, and they never did. The whole experience felt super disorganized and frustrating.

Second time he didn't even talk to me and only went off the notes the nurse took (poorly) based on a couple of questions she asked me. He asserted that the orthopedist I had seen hadn't sent records over, that the orthopedist said I had carpal tunnel (I have 4 diagnoses at that doctor's office), and that I had seen the orthopedist in April of this year (it's been more than a year since I had seen him). When I mentioned I had also had a referral to Stanford (not for surgery), he told me to go to Stanford and didn't listen to anything else I said and kept repeating to go to Stanford.

I recently had a breast reduction with Dr. Nacamuli. Two months post op I discovered a staple…read moreprotruding out one of my surgical incisions. Suffice to say, it wasn't supposed to be there. Had it not popped out on its own who knows how long it could have stayed in there! I went to the office to have it removed. There was no apology or acknowledgement of wrongdoing. Just a casual comment from the surgical nurse that it's not uncommon and happens sometimes. Um, this is negligence. (I can't understand why there is not a simple staples in/staples out count that is standard practice.) I asked the surgical nurse to order an X-ray to make sure there were no other foreign objects left in my body. It felt like a reasonable ask. She asked Dr. Nacamuli and he said no. I told the nurse I wasn't leaving without an X-ray so Dr. Nacamuli came in to speak with me. He said there was no need, that it wasn't necessary, that these were "external staples" (even though my body swallowed it up and it became internal!) He said "you trusted me to do your surgery and as your surgeon you should trust me now and skip the X-ray." He also told me that he came in to calm me down, make things less heated -- I was not exceptionally angry, not yelling or cursing, not shaking, not red in the face. I was just clear that I wanted an X-ray. He continued to be forceful in his opinion that I did not need an X-ray and rather condescending about it. When I continued to insist he walked out of the room like a child who didn't get what he wanted, no goodbye, no I understand your concern, I see your point of view... He has never been warm and fuzzy or had much bedside manner, but I didn't care because that's not why I was seeing him. But this was just rude and unprofessional.

Dr. Ghaderi has been fantastic. There is so much I appreciate about her, in our first meeting she did bring up the point of having the right doctor/patient match, which I did not read as a dislike of me but, an excellent way to start what is essentially a long term very personal relationship. I have seen Dr. Ghaderi several times the past year, every visit has been on time, comprehensive, helpful and ends with a plan and often a plan B as well. She has a balance of traditional and nontraditional treatments and on more than one occasion has sought outside advice for my situation. I am so grateful to have her as my doctor.
