Dr Kerley butchered me while trying to do a breast reduction. A few days later everything that was left of my breasts was bleeding. In her office she ripped off the large, tight wrap and was really mad. I said, "Well don't I need that until every is healed enough. She said I could get one at the hospital!! I told her one breast was very much smaller than the other one and asked what I should do - her answer---------Get Breast Implants!!!! I never went back and I hope no one else gets so maimed. By the way, I forgot the part when, at her demand, I had me write her a $1,500 check directly to her before the surgery date - probably to help pay for that vacation she took just prior. read more

She will agree to give you whatever cosmetic surgery you want and then once you are in the pre-op stage (hooked up to IVs) she will curse at you and really insult you if you question what she is doing. She did a tummy tuck for me 4 years ago and it is the most disfiguring thing I could have had. She cut me from hip straight to the other hip and did no lip-o. I weigh 120 pounds and I have a muffin top with a scar at the bottom. The first thing she said to me when I woke up was "I got rid of your C-Section scar for you". I never had a C-Section. Now, I have to wear a "granny panty" bathing suit with a bibbed top covering my stomach because of her work. Great job from a "hand specialist". read more

Dr. Kerley is awful. I've had to have 3 revisions so far to correct all of the mistakes she made on my tummy tuck. She is snarky, rude, and unprofessional in consultations. I went to her to discuss a medically necessary tummy tuck, and that is ALL we discussed. Once I was in the operating room and hooked up to an IV and feeling a little dopey, she saunters in late and says "so are we just doing the tummy tuck, or are we going all the way around"? Not once did we ever discuss the possibility of going all the way around. Because my surgery was medically necessary and not cosmetic, my insurance covered it. Had I known I had the option of going all the way around and having my insurance cover it, I absolutely would have. But when she asks me to make a huge decision like that with zero information about it, while drugged up in the operating room - well that's just nuts. Now I have to have at least one more surgery to correct her multiple mistakes, and I no longer have the option of having my backside lifted because I declined it when she asked while I was drugged up in the O.R. She also does a terrible job of explaining what will happen during and after surgery. She gives you no info on the crazy changes that will happen to your body, nor how excruciating and long the recovery process is. I can't say this strongly enough: she is a horrible surgeon and she will make your life hell. Do not go to her! read more

Dr Kerley was great in the beginning. She thoroughly explained everything. When I had my mastectomy after my chemo, she was thorough about breast implants and how the tissue expander would work. She put in my first tissue expander at the time of my mastectomy. I then had radiation. She explained that my skin would be damaged and never be the same. I got that. Then 6 months later it was time for the removal of the expander and surgery for the implant. After that, it healed and was much smaller than my other breast. She said she would take out the implant and put in another expander. By then, I'd changed jobs and my insurance changed, so I had a $7,500 deductible. She said it was still covered as post op under my old insurance. Great! Then when she gave me the first injection of fluid into the tissue expander, I got sepsis in my breast and the incisions burst with puss when I was driving and I was in the hospital for 3 days on antibiotics. She blamed it on a tooth cleaning that I DID NOT have. Never accepted blame. I got sepsis from her. She took everything out of my chest and I had a hole in my chest for 3 months being stuffed with gauze daily until I could get into Stanford to have the infection removed completely and have flap surgery where they took my stomach off and grafted it to the hole where my breast had been. I had to pay the $7,500 in my insurance deductible (that I did not have and my credit has suffered) and they ended up charging me every time I went in to have a different plastic surgeon look at the gaping hole in my chest, and she just goes merrily on her way. This Dr cut off my breasts and failed! I now have had over 12 surgeries to correct her failed attempt to do a surgery. She is not educated in breast cancer reconstruction!!!! She failed to do the required research of my high dose chemo. She failed to do the required research of my 42 radiation treatments. After surgery she pulled out my drains while they were scabbed into my body therefore causing more pain throughout my guts which made me vomit and huge scaring inside my torso and on my body. I was informed by my hairdresser that she and a client both had failed surgeries buy Dr Suzane kerley m md, a fraud! My hairdresser showed me her scars from a failed tummy tuck which Dr kerley is the fraud, offered to redue. My hairdresser ended up with multiple scars and this failed surgery by Dr Suzanne kerley m md, the fraud, which led to out of pocket surgeries done by educated and qualified real doctors at Stanford plastic surgery center. My life has been ruined by this dr. I hope to save even one person from having failed surgery from this strange woman. DO NOT GO TO HER! Save yourself! Dr. Kerley performed my breast reduction surgery at the beginning of February, and 6 weeks later, I couldn't be happier. From the initial consultation to surgery to post op appointments, Dr. Kerley explained clearly and concisely what would be involved. The morning of my surgery, I was a bit terrified, but her dry sense of humor quickly dashed my fears and I found myself smiling (before any drugs). She and her staff were personable, conscientious, and just all around nice people. I just finished my weekly post-op appointments, and I have to say that her staff (Elaine, Steve B.) have got to be the best, most attentive, genuinely concerned, individuals I've ever encountered in a doctors office. Dr. Kerley did my breast reduction a month ago and I'm very pleased with the results. She was, and continues to be, very informative and open to all the questions I have. When I've run into an issue, her assistant is quick to return my call within a couple hours and, if need be, schedule me a follow up appointment. Dr.Kerley performed my breast reconstruction surgery, and assisted in my mastectomy with another surgeon as well, and I have been extremely happy with her forthright and knowledgeable approach. I have faith in her abilities and have always been informed of the possible downside, ie scarring and pain. She's friendly, informative, skilled (hardly any scarring for me) and I will be returning to her for additional work in the future. As far as these negative comments here, I must say I can't believe she was rude or snarky--that's just not her style! Im sorry these patients were disappointed, but surgeons are not magicians and unfortunately, we don't all heal at the same rate or our skin doesn't always cooperate and heal perfectly. You must have REALISTIC expectations! There IS A RISK in any surgery and a patient should be responsible to research and know those risks and possible risks as well. I had a small hard cyst on my lip which kept growing back each time my dermatologist removed it, so she suggested Dr Kerley do a full removal with plastic surgery so that my mouth would not be removed in the process. That is exactly what happened. I am so sorry I did this for no real medical need. Dr Kerley ended up removing my entire upper lip which has changed my entire looks. I believe this surgery could have been done in a way that did not make me look like a monster. And the cyst still returns occasionally. read more

I have no idea how good this doctor is with other surgeries, but DO NOT LET HER TOUCH YOUR FACE! I went in to have eye bags repaired, and after a surgery and a laser treatment, I am left with worse than before. I really don't think she took up the extra skin after she removed the fat under my eyes. Now the area fills with fluid, and for at least half the day, my eyes look like baseballs. I won't go into details because it would take a book. But she took no "before" and "after" photos, nor did I receive after-care instructions. Two days after surgery, I went to her office because my eyes were badly swollen and bruised. She looked at me and gasped that it looked terrible and that she'd never seen anything like it. She sent me home with ice packs. It's six months later, and I still have bags. I subsequently consulted with another surgeon who said that I was expecting reasonable results, but that is not what I received. I went back to the clinic and tried to have my money refunded, but they refused, saying that I'd signed a paper agreeing that the job might not be perfect. Well, duh. I didn't expect perfection. But neither did I expect to look worse. I'm on fixed income, and this was a real indulgence for me! Next time, I'll ask the surgeon for patient photos and testimonials. I recommend that you do the same. And if the initial consultation doesn't feel right, WALK AWAY. read more

Dr. Kearley is a nice enough lady, but her anesthesiologist lacks manners. I was scheduled for a breast reduction in Monday 2.10.2014. After I got marked and had iv prep poked twice in same hand,an hour and a half later the anesthesiologist decided I needed a stress test. the anesthesiologist decided I was doing the surgery as a drastic way to lose five pounds, never mind that i am unable to sit straight and my neck and shoulders are so tight I can't move my arms at times. I had a hysterectomy a year and a half ago, and the guy acted like I was unhealthy. He didn't double check my vitals or nothing.oh and he seemed to think that sutter as outpatient only, kept telling him I had my hysterectomy there The man needs to go back to school and learn bedside manners. Judgement based on someone's appearance is not needed in the medical field. So now I gotta wait again for someone else. read more

Update: I am almost three months post op from my breast reduction with dr kerley and I am beyond happy with my results!!! She was very personable and professional. She took care of me before and after my surgery. Answered all my questions thoroughly and did not sugar coat anything. She is direct, and that is important. I've worked with doctors/surgeons before. People who haven't worked in medicine are way too quick to judge/complain. My scars are fading, my rack looks awesome, and there are only a couple minor imperfections. I referred 4 friends to her. My only complaint was the nurse I had at Sutter prior to my procedure. I think her name was Jane. Very rude, awkward, and made me feel disgusting for my skin condition on my chest. I also woke up from anesthesia to her complaining about needing to leave ASAP for a trip, and was rude to me then too! All in all, awesome surgeon and surgical team, awful nurse. read more
