A solo bartender was struggling to keep up with a line of customers that wasn't very long or complicated. The outdoor patio was a nice place to sip before heading into the show. Downstairs bathrooms were spotless. Is this place brand new? The music hall is beautiful. and it still smelled like lumber. It does get a little hot towards the front. I tend to prefer warm to cold, but it was a bit warm in the front. I thought it was just warm all over but when I walked down the center aisle during a break in the set I felt a gust of cool A/C. Dress appropriately, as the musicians felt it as well. There were a few small technical glitches but nothing that marred the show - the lights went out but it was right at the end of a song so it was pretty cool timing for an accident! They popped right back on. If you're thinking about walking from downtown Asheville...maybe don't. It's downhill as you walk towards the river and uphill as you walk away so it's not a casual stroll in either direction. There are also two small sections with very limited street lighting.

When I arrived yesterday, the White Horse announced that it was now a membership based non-profit business that will allow it to continue on indefinitely in service to performers and the community. One doesn't have to be a member but membership bring additional benefits depending on the level of participation. The performance was well attended, the music and acoustics outstanding, and the bar service appreciated. Just visit their website for info on upcoming shows and a breakdown of the new membership levels. This venue is definitely appreciated and supported by the community. It is worth a visit, contribution, and/or membership.

Speaking of privilege, a lot of that here. Went to see a show in the balcony the other night and it was a nice experience. Definitely wear a lot of the older wealthier Asheville citizens gather. Certainly a crowd here. Could've also been the event we went to which was a cultural performance. Ultimately, I appreciate that we have cultural performances in our city and a space for them. Parking was a little annoying just because it was Saturday downtown but I do like the space is central. Lots of places to eat at around. Finding it was incredibly easy as well. Inside, there was quite a bottleneck as we arrived about 20 minutes before the show. We did have to wait in line. It was a little bit confusing to figure out exactly where to go but some staff helped. They had wine for sale- house and pricier stuff. The house was around nine dollars a glass. I really appreciate that the staff helped us shoes and gave their opinion. The staff working the wine area was incredibly kind. The stage itself was gorgeous. It was very easy to see in here, no matter where you were.

Loved the different trucks for food and beverage. The beer was delicious, service was friendly and the band was amazing. This is the first show I've been to in a while, that most people didn't use their phone to take videos or pics. Amazing! Entrance was smooth, even with the line.

They're kept incredibly clean, and there are enough that even during a popular show there was never a wait!
