History
Established in 2008.
Thomas Tax Solutions was founded by Joelle Thomas, EA, a North Carolina native who grew up in Duplin County and has called Wilmington home for more than 36 years. With a background spanning public accounting and private industry, Joelle built the firm on firsthand experience with the real-world challenges individuals and small businesses face when dealing with tax issues.
After years working in audit, tax, and full-cycle accounting roles, Joelle returned to full-time practice with a clear focus: helping taxpayers resolve IRS and state tax problems with clarity, strategy, and advocacy. Today, Thomas Tax Solutions specializes in tax resolution, individual and business tax services, and ongoing support for small and closely held businesses.

Meet the Business Owner: Joelle T.
Joelle Thomas, EA, is the Owner of Thomas Tax Solutions and a Southeastern North Carolina native. Her path into accounting wasn’t traditional—she originally dreamed of a career in theatre—but her time working in her family’s small business sparked a genuine interest in helping people make sense of the numbers behind their livelihoods.
Joelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1992 and later returned to UNCW to complete her Master of Science in Accountancy as part of the university’s inaugural MSA class in 1997. She is an Enrolled Agent, licensed to represent taxpayers before the IRS, and specializes in helping individuals and small, closely held businesses resolve tax problems and navigate complex IRS and state matters and is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
Clients value her calm, judgment-free approach and her commitment to clear communication and strong advocacy.
