As someone working in several states and dealing with the complexities of that as well as lots of work travel, I ran across Helene Roth three years ago -- and she's definitely a find! Not only did she have specific expertise I happened to need in Federal, New Jersey, and also California tax rules, but she's as level-headed, patient, helpful, and insightful as any accountant I've ever heard of. I'm the sort of person who does his own taxes, but when complicated situations like home sales, moves between states, domestic partner taxation and the rest piled up, it was an enormous relief to have her advise and check on what I was doing. For a specific transaction, she even came to our house and provided a balanced and extremely helpful review of a delicate and important financial matter. Compared to other (supposedly) high end tax firms I've had experience with (who simply ask you to gather and organize all the information, then charge $1000 or more to have a clerk enter it into TurboTax - often with mistakes), Helene Roth is a gem! read more
