I contacted the office by phone on April 14th to report the error. The receptionist acknowledged my concern and stated the information would be updated. When I asked about receiving confirmation once the correction was made, she specifically told me she would call me when it was completed. That call never came. Despite multiple follow-up calls and voicemails over the course of a full week, I never received a return call, any written response, or any acknowledgment of the error from anyone at the firm. No correction was ever made. As a result of this error and the firm's failure to follow through on their own stated commitment, I was forced to independently file a protective federal extension, and pay a state tax balance under the incorrect filing status. I received a reduced refund as a result. I have not yet filed an amended return but intend to do so. I am not filing this complaint seeking a resolution from the business. I am filing to create an accurate public record. The combination of a material filing error, a broken promise of follow-up from staff, and over a week of complete silence toward a paying client falls below any reasonable standard of professional conduct for a licensed CPA firm. I would not recommend this firm based on my experience.

Here we are 7 months later and we have called the State every month . No resolution . Talked to Ray at RJB and he said there is nothing he can do that we have to wait until the State figures it out . Do not use RJB . You have to make an appt to talk to Ray and at that it can be 3 weeks out before he can call you back .

In the year i had him do my books the only thing i ask was that the taxes where paid monthly and kept up to date. After one year we still had not got setup to pay as we should. I realized just how bad it was when i hired a real accountant who charged me a 1/4 of the price Shawn did and had me setup within a few days. I wasted 3 grand on his services and got nothing in return. Also had him do my taxes for the year and he did not complete them either, found this out months later and when i called and asked him to get it straightened out....... that never happened. Hes a nice guy and all but as far as an accountant goes your best to go elsewhere. $250 a month to "reconcile" the books which i ended up doing myself after the fact which took about 30 minutes. Not happy at all with his services. He now has a painting company hes trying to get off the ground so please new/small business owners go elsewhere for your book keeping needs. ive tried calling him to resolve this issue with no luck at all so this is my only option.
