To put it into perspective, it was 7 months post surgery before I could even walk on a treadmill. By the time I got to Dr. Gus, I thought I was done being active even though I was just in my mid 20s. But through treatments with Dr. Gus and Apllied Wellness's feasible Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy treatments, I was able to become more than active again as a healthy, athletic adult. Moving forward as a patient at Applied Wellness, one is able to maintain an upkeep of their health through the blood tests one can get. Typically, if you go to your general doctor for blood work, it could take months before hearing back the results. Also, in my personal experience, the results come back via mail saying to just take more blood tests. When getting your blood work done at Applied Wellness, Dr. Gus will physically review the results with you there showing you what's going on with your blood and then go over a proactive plan of attack for any issues at hand. The icing on the cake is Dr. Gus's vast knowledge on nutrition. My eating habits have taken a complete 360 degree turn for the better so I have been able to change my life around for the long-lasting improvement. For when I was in college playing football, I just thought I could eat whatever I wanted because I was active and still had a youthful metabolism. I just lacked the overall proper nutritional knowledge. Dr. Gus will share with you the knowledge to turn your eating lifestyle for the better.

My son was diagnosed with mild…read moreautism when he was 3 and we had been regularly looking and researching alternative based treatments in addition to his regular Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy sessions. Dr. Gus was recommended to us by a member of our same church who told us what a wonderful doctor he was and how his nutritional and health based treatments significantly improved his medical condition. My son started meeting with Dr. Gus twice weekly for hyperbaric oxygen treatments to help improve his immune system and monthly with Dr. Gus for chiropractic treatments. Within 1-2 months of his initial appointment, my son's speech significantly improved in both the quantity of language that he used and in the complexity of his language. Jared has also regular blood tests to check his blood flow and levels of oxidation in order to make sure my son's body is properly absorbing the vitamins and minerals he was taking. Two years later my son continues to improve in his use of spontaneous language and overall physical development. I was so impressed with my son's improvement that I also started receiving chiropractic treatments and nutritional based therapy from Dr. Gus, and in turn, my overall energy level has also made significant improvements. Dr. Gus is very easy to talk with and truly listens to the concerns of his patients. When both my son and I had blood tests performed, Dr. Gus fully went over the results with us and actually showed these results on screen. That way I could see both the positive and negative areas so a good treatment protocol can be started. That really made a difference with me. You can tell that Dr. Gus truly cares about his patients and he also lives what he believes. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Gus and the Applied Wellness Center.

Absolutely horrendous and borderline malpractice. My partner has been going here for years and has…read moreeven referred patients. We became pregnant and it made sense for him to be our OB. We were with him for 1st and 2nd trimester. In that time, the level of care would've been laughable if it so wasn't traumatic. We would wait in the waiting room for, at minimum, 1 hour after our scheduled appointment. We learned to call an hour ahead. We called and they said everything's on time. Got there - waited an hour - and then was told they didn't have bloodwork from the 1st trimester. WE DID THEM THERE IN THE OFFICE. They lost our blood work and then tried to blame her. Dr Mac then came out and said we've been a bad patient - she was crying and he and his staff were teaming up on her berating her and saying she was wrong. Office manager was screaming at her over Dr Mac. We did everything to a T correctly as it's our first pregnancy. (Also worth noting - my partner drove an hour both ways for this and was hit by a truck in her car on her way home) Now some words for you Mac. Listen here pal... every time we've seen you, we've had to remind you of what we have next and why tests haven't been ordered. You come in for 1 minute, fly through an exam, and ask if we need anything - which is when WE had to tell YOU what needs to be done. Typical response was "oh we haven't done that yet?" This was our level of care. You didn't tell her she had a negative blood type which required a Rogam shot every 4 weeks. We missed the first 2 doses because you didn't even know what her blood type was well into the 2nd trimester. You tested her blood sugar and called her A MONTH LATER to tell her she has gestational diabetes and we should go see a dietician. Which, by the way, if ANYTHING is wrong with our baby when it's delivered, you've opened yourself up to litigation. You brought my partner to tears telling her she's a bad patient and we didn't get blood work done. If we hadn't advocated for ourselves and joined groups and forums... we wouldn't have known ANYTHING that needed to be done. We found a new OB at Northwestern they LAUGHED at the paperwork Mac sent over. They literally said "he's seriously still practicing?" Absolutely no organization and they lost all of her blood work that, again, was done IN OFFICE!!! Yet berated a first time pregnant mother into tears for being a "bad patient". You are just a number here. A box to be checked. Get e'm in and get e'm out. Absolutely no accountability or advocation for their patients. I'd recommend a clinic before I'd ever recommend this toxic office.
