Baseball diamonds with concession center & batting cage. THIS PARK HAS RESTROOMS BUT THEY LACK DOORS ON THE TOILET STALLS WHICH IS A PRIVACY CONCERN. Very green except the wind knocked a trash can over, and there was trash blown around. I did not get to see the community center & gymnasium interior because I came before noon on a Sunday, when most people in Mobile are in church, & it was locked. Saw a father & son playing catch in one of the baseball diamonds and some kids at the playground, other then that, park was empty. The fitness center and playground look brand new. I know this park is usually busy with community activities. If you go down Washington Street, there is The Ben Mays Public Library on Government street. This park is a short distance from stores, bars & eateries. There is a grocery store on Government & Broad Street (Greer's) , also McDonald's, Popeye's, Burger King ion Government Street nearby. For even better food, check out all the great local downtown food joints on Dauphin Street, you wont regret it.

This event and venue location was a total surprise for me!…read more I did not know this place existed until I was asked to help with the wedding planning. It was spacious and accommodating. Although there were several last minute reschedules and issues that we ran into, it was altogether a good location for parties and gathering. The wedding that we help decorate and plan had roughly 320 guests. They did not have enough tables and chairs for us, so we had to rent from other places. Parking is limited to first come, first serve for about the first 30-40 cars and the rest would need to park farther in the back at their extra parking lot space. This venue does not allow alcohol, from what I heard, and it was a dry wedding. We had soft drinks, sparkling grape juice, and grape juice mocktails. The people working at the venue is quite friendly and are willing to help you when you ask. We are very grateful that they allow us to leave our stuff for an additional day.

Tables were decorated by the various groups that meet at the center with Christmas Carol themes. Our Mahjong group chose "O Christmas Tree" for the two tables we decorated. Everyone attending brought a side dish or a dessert and 2 businesses furnished the entrees of ham and fried chicken. Music was provided by Greg Normand and Terry Youngblood. Christmas carols were played and even a sing along by the group of attendees. Door prizes were provided by Spanish Fort Businesses. Heather Allen, Spanish Fort Activity Director, did an amazing job of organizing this event. Thank you City of Spanish Fort for hosting this event.

I attended a wedding reception here yesterday. Prior to this event I never even knew this place…read moreexisted. The facility is beautiful! Parking is perfect. Event space is sufficient. Kitchen space is large. It's connected to the Spanish Fort Library. There is also a beautiful pond in the back with a nice deck/board walk and fountains. The ladies room is nice and clean with modern amenities. I must say it was a pleasant surprise!

Saw a lot of Mobile County Parks & Recreation workers and trucks out there, it looks like some big renovation project was getting underway.
