I had the best experience with this office-at all levels…read more First, I need to say-Taylor needs a raise and that is worth repeating. Taylor needs a raise. What a pleasant, kind problem solver-Taylor figured out what was going on for me and confirmed an appointment for me. She followed up, talked to my insurance and got me started down this path- which is epic. She made sure a new patient got a chance, time and a warm welcome. I am having problems. Problems with my teeth, insurance, my current dentist, my current periodontist and getting my proposed surgery ( which I now know makes no sense to have). I. drove 40 miles one way to get here to this location because I've been trying to get surgery for way too long- a surgery that wouldn't really help me but others said was the correct approach. Aspen Cortland rolled out the red carpet and delivered for me- big time. Todd kicked butt and got me an appointment with Aspen vestal for a follow up on a potential root canal for 3 days after my visit. 3 days!! Todd made sure things went smoothly for me at the Cortland appointment but also for my for future care at a different office. What great patient care. He also helped explain some technical stuff for me in PLAIN ENGLISH!! Actually every one here took the time and spoke plainly and not in a condescending way. But the conversations were one human to another. Wow what a fantastic and fresh way to run a dental practice. Speaking of one to one human contact and explaining things well- Dr Alex Sonesson. He is probably the best dentist/oral surgeon I have ever met. He explained my films, my pain and my old diagnosis and why the surgery that was suggested for me might not be practically correct for me and how our focus should shift!! Wow. What a lovely and life changing appointment. 5 stars for them all. Every single person I met here contributed to my health. I cannot recommend this practice enough. Thank you

Consumer BEWARE…read more Aspen Dental in Cortland NY has the worst service, on ALL levels I have ever seen. First, their hours, see picture attached, they are only open two days a week (on average). That means, if you need an appointment on 12/4, your next available will be 1/15. I'll take my records thank you, I'm done! Second, their work is bad. I had two fillings done on my two front teeth because I over brushed. They filled them with a yellowish filling. All my teeth are white except my two front teeth (I don't smoke and avoid staining beverages). I'm afraid to smile. When I went back to have it fixed, they polished them, which made it ok, for a few weeks. When I called to have it fixed again, I got the pricing for what I would have to pay. THEY DONT BACK UP THIER BAD WORK. It's a revolving door of new doctors. One time it must have been the new doctors first day, talk about scary. Covered in water because she didn't know the equipment. Your a test subject! The office staff, there are a lot of them, some of them know what's going on, they told me when they saw what they did to my teeth, "oh you want this dr, he's the owner, he's good" they know that the dentists are NOT GOOD, they try to help. Some of them are NASTY! They are like, take a number. Because just because they are closed almost all the time doesn't mean the office staff is not still there, everyday, working behind locked doors, NOT ANSWERING THE PHONE, but if you show up they may let you in, to tell you they can make an appointment for you five weeks out. Keep it local, I called a local recommended dentist and got an appointment 2 days out. Hopefully they can fix what aspen screwed up. It's going to cost me though. I have never in my lifetime seen service as bad as Aspen. I rarely write a bad review, I'm pretty easy going, but this place is scary. Beware.

I was so excited to get my teeth fixed up, I was pregnant during covid and was unable to get dental…read morecare and lost a couple of fillings which turned into required root canals and crowns. I went to the dentist and they said we're going to fix you. they scheduled me for my procedure, I didn't receive any instructions or printouts. I didn't know what was happening. I didn't know what to expect. while I was in the dental chair, the dentist asked the assistant. if she made sure that the insurance approved everything, he then asked her if she was sure that they approved a tooth that didn't need a route canal for a crown and he kind of chuckled.. The dentist completely numbed my mouth before they got the imprint for the crowns, they were pretty much doing root canals and crowns on probably 2/3 of my mouth. including my front teeth. after he was done with the dental work he went to put the temporaries on and they wouldn't fit. I asked him specifically. is this going to cause issues with the teeth wearing down and the crowns fitting properly and he said no no no don't worry about it. so a couple of weeks go by, after literally suffering to death with the healing process, I go to go in for my appointment for my crowns and they called me the day before and told me their crown machine was broken and that the parts would be in on Monday, this was a Friday. a Friday. they scheduled me for Monday, I called on Monday to make sure that everything was going to be ready and they said I'm glad that you called because the crown machine is still broken. we did get the part. so this went on for several weeks with these temporaries on half of the teeth that required temporaries. finally they let me know that they had my crowns. so I went in for my appointment and they showed them to me and I was like they're gigantic. I have small teeth, my mother has small teeth. my aunts have small teeth. so the dentist goes to put the crowns in my mouth and they won't fit because they're too big. he was able to fit some of them in the top right side of my mouth, but the other ones he had already put the cement in to put them in my mouth and they wouldn't fit, so he sent in the technician that makes the teeth I guess. and the technician was complaining about how he had already put the cement in the crowns and he couldn't fix it. so here I have this dental technician drilling on my regular teeth. trying to make the crowns fit in my mouth when the teeth were just way too big. The ones that the dentists was able to fit in were painful because they were too tight. so I went home with a couple of the crowns in my mouth that I needed, I expected to come back in and give the rest of the crowns put on but they again would not fit a couple of weeks later. and then again I came in for another appointment and they wouldn't fit yet again. One of the crowns that he was able to fit on was so tight that over this period of time the tooth slowly pushed forward to the point where it snapped off the metal post. The dentist did not try to fix this and I ended up having this tooth removed and it was not a bad tooth. so removing it was very painful and required extra healing time and I still have a huge divot in the gums above where the tooth was removed. I ended up with a partial, the partial did not fit. I messaged them and they promised me that they were going to fix the problem and fix the teeth and I went in and yet again they didn't fit properly. they were able to get them in finally, and then that same week three of them fell out. The next week. two more fell out. I called them. I told them that the crowns were falling out and I wasn't eating sticky stuff and I was following directions that I had found online on how to be cautious with your crowns. The dentist fixed the one front tooth that the crown had fallen off of and I asked about the other crowns which there were five of them at this point that I did not have in my mouth and the dentist said we are fixing this tooth. after he finally got the front tooth placed back in my mouth, the dental assistant asked me if I wanted to schedule a cleaning, nothing about the crowns that were still missing out of my mouth. they also left open my dental records on their computer while they left the room and I saw that they lied about what I had said and what had occurred. do not trust these people. My teeth were way better before I went to them. if I could go back and do it over again I would never have gone to Cortland dental..

Very awful, rude and disrespectful. Doesn't care to explain what he's doing and does horrible work…read more Destroys teeth. Left two teeth leaking, according to my new dentist. He ruined two out of two teeth he worked on... Stay away from this office if you care about your teeth!!

The staff were genuine, attentive, and professional -- you can feel when a clinic truly values patients, and this one does. My first visit was excellent. The care team listened, took their time, and never made me feel rushed. The atmosphere was modern, clean, and relaxed. Staff encouraged and reinforced positive habits rather than shaming anyone for what they "should" be doing -- a huge difference compared to other places. The first set of x-rays was essentially free (saving me hundreds), which stunned me. Both the dentist and hygienist were thorough, careful, and patient. This is how dentistry should feel: professional, compassionate, and centered on care -- not billing. I highly recommend Gorges Dentistry to anyone in Ithaca looking for quality dental care.

Schedule and bills were Rube Goldbergian. "It's broken" and "Yes, heh-heh, yes" were the responses, respectively, of hygienist Mattie and owner Anthony Raggi to herky-jerky "panoramic X-ray" and my comment "You want my money, don't you?"--as he appeared from the back room to interrupt my starting to ask about confusing paperwork with "Is there a problem?" A re-capped 20-year-old crown ran $1500 taken mid-term. At the close of 3 visits, a recurring "-$138" remainder not refundable was claimed as due to said feckless X-ray.
