I wish I would have gotten to see this sculpture in the summer. The statue of Thomas Jefferson stands upon an eight feet tall rock with a water feature. Unfortunately, the water wasn't flowing during my visit.
The sculpture is by local artist Guy Tedesco who completed the statue and had it installed at Warder Park in 2003. In addition to the sculpture, there are two plaques about Jefferson who was depicted here since he is the namesake of the city.
This bronze shows striding forward wearing a long coat and carrying a cylindrical object (possibly a spyglass) in his left hand.
This is a very nice addition to Court Avenue which also hosts a number of civic buildings including the county courthouse.
