School has early start at 830 am and done by 240 pm. This appeals to working parents as most elementary schools begin at 920. This school also has some open enrolled students. There are a lot of PTO fundraisers but no pressure If you dont participate. If you live too close you have to pay for bussing. This school was built in 1970's and has a boiler heat system and my child wears t shirts in winter as a result. They are very aware of peanut and nut allergies here also.

Curtis would constantly pull me into his office for the smallest infractions and would come up to me in the hallways and lobby with accusatory behavior when I wasn't doing anything wrong. Curtis, since I'm now an adult and can speak to you as one. Screw you. You made my school life hell. I hope that you have changed as a person, since I was a student under you but I doubt it. Groves has been life changing for my son. He started in fourth grade and now he's in seventh. I…read morenoticed early on that he wasn't reading. Covid shut down for second grade didn't help either. He attended a different private school for third grade, but it didn't fit his needs. But they did help us discover that he had a problem with his eyes and needed eye therapy in order to be able to read. I was very concerned that he had missed the formative years of foundational, reading and writing. This is what led us to Groves. Most of his teachers have been spectacular every year. Extremely nurturing and encouraging. He's made huge strides in reading and writing. He now has so much more confidence and feels very comfortable at the school. The teachers are very communicative with parents. Also, the speech and language tutoring has been very helpful as well. If your child has issues with reading and writing, literacy, and executive functioning, I highly recommend Groves. I am so grateful for this school. They are doing very important work there and helping so many kids.

They have so many wide programs in theater, arts, baccalaureate. The school is very diverse and allows students to interact with all kinds of students from different ethnic backgrounds. They always encourage students to come from abroad, so you'll have the chance to meet with people from around the world. They offer PSEO, so you can go to Normandale and get credit for high school and college (although most classes only transfer to U of M and not all private schools accept - look into it). Great neighborhood. Great after school programs. Great teachers. Just awesome!

You basically need to come here on foot or you need to already be parking downtown at some other pay facility or for some other reason. That makes it really problematic for me because I came downtown specifically to use this facility and then ended up having to pay a bunch of money and not even get to stay here as long as I wanted to. The facility itself is good but it's not worth the extra money so I just end up using Suburban locations now in the Twin Cities, and they should really have a lot or garage somewhere where their members and guests as well can use it for free while they are working out.
