The office in West Bradenton was more warm and welcoming than the Lakewood Ranch office. The quality of care is top notch, with my personal disaster - a cracked upper molar - that requires extraction. Not only did they squeeze me in as an emergency, but spent the time and energy making sure that we tried a root canal (at another Endodontist) which confirmed that the crack was irreparable. I want to start off by saying after careful consideration and hrs. of research on Doctors that are highly qualified to do dental implants I decided to go with Dr Thomas Rubino, which was one of the best decisions I have ever made! Actually my first appointment was to get a second opinion with never the thoughts of dental implants, but to see if the previous doctor was correct in other dental work they said I needed that was going to cost thousands of dollars. From the moment he walked in I knew he was not about the money but about pt. care. For someone that has worked in the medical field I was quite impressed with his intelligence and bedside manners, Which is very rare to get both! After my appointment I did find out (from an Endodontist) that I needed a root canal which spiraled into my bridge needing to be removed, a couple of crowns that needed done with the option of another bridge or implants. Which brought me to the decision of implants and then therefore prompted a second visit with Dr Rubino for a consult... Once again the same compassionate caring man I had met the first time! Day of surgery, Normally I get nervous going to the dentist and was so unsure how this process was going to make me feel that I had worried all the way up to the time I had arrived. When (Erin) his assistant came in to numb me I felt the compassion she had for her pts. that I immediately felt comfortable, Not to say how knowledgeable and sweet she was! Surgery itself from Dr Rubino was painless and he walked me through every step of the way, Such an expert! Afterwards (Makayla) was very sweet in answering a few questions I had and did not make me feel rushed. Shout out to the staff!! I don't want to start naming names in case I leave someone out so I will just say "All" seemed more like a family than coworkers and were so sweet, What an incredible group of people! This dental office has poor business practices. First, I was told they would take my insurance for a a pediatric procedure but they trick me that way to get us in. They don't take our insurance. Second, the dentist was very technical explaining the procedure (even for a healthcare provider myself). Third, the financial coordinator (Carisa) took a long time to get us in her office and she was not prepared with an itemized estimate, dental codes or a preauthorization from my insurance. She just gave us a fee ($2000) for doing closed exposures for a child. I wonder why they were checking prior to this meeting. Finally, Carisa offer to send an email with information about preauthorization and has been eight days and nothing. I read another bad experience from other client and it seems corrupted business is going in this office. They surprised you with additional fees after the procedure is completed and you don't have a choice after you sign their papers. I wouldn't recommend this office at all. read more

First, let me say I never write reviews. But I feel I need to counter all of the 5 stars. I was very disappointed in Dr. Rubino. He was rough, rude, and non empathetic, and a bit condescending. It would go too long to describe everything, but he pulled one tooth and wanted to pull another and I said no.He did spend follow up appointment's with me, but again, the same attitude. My last appointment I heard another older woman loudly complaining in another room about her consult with him. He may have been good at perio, but not so much else, especially implants, which everyone wants to do now. I wonder if he should retire. UPDATE: I feel I have to include some things I didn't in my first review. First, everything changed from my initial consultation until I sat down in the chair to have work done. No additional x-rays or examination and all of a sudden the price was going to double or triple because now more teeth looked suspicious from the initial consultation. I had called the office twice to verify their pricing on the treatment plan, which was given to me in handwriting, after asking twice for an itemized estimate and they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. From now on I will never get anything other than a detailed itemized estimate for work to be done. He also made several mistakes on things from tooth numbers, to fees of procedures, to questions asked. I got copies of the notes from my case and there were either mistakes or inaccuracies. This is not someone to see if you are intelligent and want to ask questions. 2nd UPDATE: I saw my regular dentist today and everything is healing fine and no need to pull the other tooth that Rubino wanted to pull. He lied on his notes about his procedures. I will be filing a complaint with the Florida Dental Board. read more

I went to Dr. Rubino to address some gum recession. He did an amazing job at restoring my gumline, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Dr. Rubino is professional, highly trained and experienced. He also makes a great effort to keep you apprised of what is going on. His team is the best...truly helpful, professional, responsive and welcoming. His office is the only doctor's office in my whole life that actually keeps appointment times! Dr. Rubino is excellent in every way. His professionalism, knowledge, and customer care is topnotch. My right jaw joint received a traumatic injury thirty years ago, causing it extensive damage, requiring specialized dentists from Honolulu to Europe to Florida.
