I feel kind of stupid reviewing my dentist, but once the Yelp itch starts, you can't get relief…read moreuntil you review every damn place you've ever been to in your life. I mean, for hell's sake, I once reviewed a Time and Temperature sign in Bowling Green, Ohio. Anyhoo...I've been going here for five years, as long as I've lived in Lakewood. I got a crown four years ago that has never given me trouble, a historically good sign that you have a solid dentist. And I even heard her complain to me once about dentists that pile on unnecessary services. So that's pretty cool. AND she actually had current issues of good magazines, not just a copy of Field & Stream from 1997 like my old dentist.

I think this place was recently bought out as Dr Albano is close to retirement. When I went, it was…read moreclearly a mess and in transition. I was a new patient and the hygienist had a lot of issues taking the x rays. At one point another hygienist came in the room without wearing a mask. Saw a few other hygienists walking around the halls without masks on, so COVID or patients are not taken seriously at all here. This was extremely annoying, especially since my mask had to come off so I could have my teeth examined. After almost 30 minutes of x rays, the doctor took a look at my teeth and said "ok let's schedule a cleaning in a few weeks, we're out of time today". I had already taken off work and was under the impression I'd have a new patient exam as well as a cleaning that day. So I told them I wanted a cleaning that day due to a busy work schedule and they finally gave me one. Not sure if they could have charged me more for coming back or something. Overall, a weird experience. Don't recommend. Dr Albano might be good, but whoever bought her practice out is not.

I will start off by saying my first impression of Dr Smith's office was not ideal. I felt very…read morerushed, very talked over and felt like our questions we asked were annoying him. I was a bit nervous as to how things would go on the actual day of service. I have a teenage daughter that suffers with anxiety bad, she needs to be told what's going on play by play. So as the day arrived for her procedure I was quite concerned based on our treatment at our consultation. Day of surgery was very stressful, on a level of 0-10 her anxiety was a 20, I explained to the nurse that my daughter wasn't going to handle this well because of this. She was amazing and spoke calmly to my daughter and did her best to ease her nerves to no avail, my daughter was disrespectful, rude and I was very embarrassed by her behavior. As it progressed my anxiety grew with worry because of my first impression of Dr Smith when we had our consultation. To my surprise he was patient with her and did his absolute best to assure her this procedure was going to go well. He even called us later in the evening to check on her. Her follow up appointments weren't quite as bad, however she was still pretty anxious, each check up they were patient and kind. I would definitely recommend them for their quality care and work. This is a busy office, it's ran efficiently. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I did feel that the receptionist when she called us the prior to our appointments she talked to me very condescendingly. When we checked in she wasn't much better when she was directing us to fill out the paperwork. She definitely could use some better people skills. If you're not looking for a cozy atmosphere or making friends here then this place will be great.

Wow. Terrible experience. Made the appt 3 weeks prior for a wisdom teeth extraction consultation…read more Took my daughter out of school for the appt. Had XRays and referral form sent over from dentist. Called 3 times to make sure the office had what they needed. Friday before the appt, I called to confirm and was told that their system was down and couldn't verify if they had the XRays or if they were readable. Was told they would call me back and let me know. Never received that call and went to the appt. Woman at the front desk is in desperate need of a new profession. Disrespectful and rude. Especially because they received XRays that they could NOT read and we had the nerve to show up for the appt. Not only that, she questioned our insurance and hammered home the fact that it wasn't covered 100%. Yes, we know. It's called a Consultation to talk about procedure & cost. Wondering if it was the same chick as the review from Kara E from 11/18/2018 or they just can't find a professional receptionist. "She sort of talked over me and claimed to have never heard of my dental insurance company before. What really got me was that she scoffed and laughed like I was making it up?" Yep. Same exact experience. Left the office - didn't even stay to find out how the rest of the "show" went. Unacceptable.

As someone who hates going to the dentist, I still give CLE Smiles a thumbs up and definite…read morerecommendation. I started coming here 7 or 8 years ago while living in Lakewood and have kept returning despite moving to the other side of town. The facility is clean and comfortable and they always have HGTV playing on the TV's which relaxes me a bit. Dr. Niki is nice and efficient. She talks pretty fast and isn't really an over explainer, but I feel comfortable with her treatment plans. I don't feel like I've ever been pushed to do any unnecessary procedures and she is very thorough. All of the dental assistants have been very friendly and professional. They really talk you through the procedures and aren't annoyed if ever you need a break. I took off one star because I did have a billing problem once. At one point before the pandemic, I had to get a ton of fillings which were supposed to be sent to my insurance. Basically they quoted me incorrectly because my insurance had maxed out but I never knew the difference that I was supposed to pay out of pocket. After that, I continued to patron the place, playing for a teeth whitening 100% out of pocket and thinking that my account was all paid up. Just earlier this year when I went in for a cleaning I was told that I had a balance due because my insurance didn't cover all of those fillings from years ago. It was pretty frustrating because I was never contacted or sent a bill. Luckily, we were able to resolve it and I was offered a discounted payoff amount, which I appreciated because it was an error on their part and could have been dealt with a long time ago. Their new billing manager Kelse went over the entire bill with me more than once and I eventually understood/was satisfied with her explanation of things. Overall, I definitely trust CLE Smiles with my dental care. I sought out this business because I wanted to support a female dentist at the time and I am happy I did.

When I went the last time, she nonchalantly said I may need a root canal. I did NOT need one until she touched my teeth. She showed no empathy. She messed my teeth up. I do NOT recommend her!
