I cannot recommend Clara Sewell, PA-C at Thomas Dermatology enough. I came in with a long-term cyst that had unfortunately become painfully infected. To my surprise, Clara treated it right away. I know this unexpected procedure put her behind schedule for the rest of her day, but she never made me feel rushed. Her bedside manner is truly excellent--she made me feel comfortable and cared for throughout the entire procedure. Removing it felt like a literal weight off my shoulders, and I am so relieved and incredibly grateful to finally have it taken care of. Call the office to schedule an appointment because if you want to make a new patient appointment online, they want a credit card so I called after being on hold for about half hour, I finally got through a live person, made my appointment only to get a phone call 15 minutes later telling me I cannot go to their practice. Because I canceled my appointments in the past. What the f***, I guess they're so busy that they don't need any patients go someplace else. read more

So they sent me a bill this year from four years ago but did not send me any kind of itemized statement it was actually through a text message so I thought it was a scam. Then when I called the number of the billing department they set up a payment plan with me for $50 a month but then somebody internally canceled the payment plan saying that they don't allow anything under $500 to be in a payment plan and then they charged me over $100 more and sent me to collections right away and did not even tell me. I mean they're claiming they left some message for me but why would you set up a payment plan and write it and send an email and then cancel it without notifying the customer and send them to collections then it somehow still sent me bills from Thomas dermatology so I paid it all off ,like everything and even more like over 100 more for this fee for them and then when I call they're like oh you weren't supposed to pay us you're supposed to pay collections well they won't give me my account number for collections or even the company that's the collection company -it's been absolute hell! Had a good experience coming to this Thomas dermatology location for the first time. The only confusing part was checking in- I arrived in a left door and was directed to the right door, then I checked in but they said my appointment was across the street but same company. It was a little odd. Once I walked across the street it was easy from there. Front desk gentleman was funny & super nice. I saw the PA Clara Sewell. She was so nice and thorough. Wow! I dont know if this was personal or what but the front desk staff is so incredibly rude and inept at their jobs its almost a wonder this place stays open. Talking to higher management didnt help much either. My son waited 3 months for his appointment, has insurance and they refused to accept our documented proof of insurance after even ADMITTING that the information was valid. Now, they want to charge a $50 fee for a "missed appointment" when they wouldn't even see us. The Doctors in here could be phenomenal (dont know...never got to see them) but it means absolutely NOTHING if the entire office is rude, inept and clueless. I'm leaving this review because patients deserve to know the serious risks of the care they're receiving at this dermatology practice -- especially when it comes to their reckless overprescribing of topical steroids and total lack of awareness about Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW). I showed up with mild skin symptoms -- which I now know were early warning signs of TSW. Instead of offering any education or safer treatment options, I was handed Clobetasol -- the strongest steroid out there -- with zero warning about the risks or what would happen if I stopped using it. I followed their directions perfectly, and now I'm stuck in a full-blown, debilitating withdrawal that has completely wrecked my life. When I came back months later and told a different provider that I was going through TSW, the first medical assistant I spoke with literally looked at me like I was making it up -- she'd never even heard of it. Then they sent in a second medical assistant, who also had no clue what TSW was. I told them flat out I did NOT want an immunosuppressant. But the moment the PA walked in, she pushed it on me like it was candy. Honestly, I felt like she cared more about cashing a check for writing a prescription than actually helping me through what I was going through. Desperate and vulnerable, I agreed -- and guess what? I ended up with eczema herpeticum on my face and a whole lot worse symptoms. My life has been on pause for over four months. I've had to take unpaid time off work because even wearing clothes feels like torture. My skin flakes nonstop, I'm unbearably itchy, and I haven't slept properly in weeks. I can no longer do the things I loved to do, like go to the gym or hang out with friends. And here's the kicker -- I'm not alone. I'm in a support group with thousands of others who have been butchered by dermatologists' careless overprescribing. Some are still suffering 5 to 10 years later. Yes, years. This isn't just bad medical judgment. It's reckless, dangerous, and downright negligent. If your providers are jumping from mild skin complaints straight to the strongest meds without a second thought or informed consent, this practice is not safe. Went I for an abnormal looking mole. They remove it. No call to tell me what's up with it, I call a few time to get an update. No response, I call back a few more times, nothing, figured maybe that means that everything is good. Eventually get a bill, I call to pay for it and hopefully get an update, just a simple "we reviewed th results and everything is great" I've been calling them since August 17, it's September 2nd now, it baffles me that I've been calling several times a week, at different hours just incase, and no one can pick up? Horrible office staff and organization. Called over 2 weeks ahead of time to schedule an apt. I gave them all my insurance info ect to also verify the provider I was supposed to meet with was in network. Arrive to my apt time 3 weeks later and was told again they needed to verify my insurance after we already went thought this weeks before. They then had my what is like a dictionary thick packet of paperwork to fill out, I fill that out and then a min later they inform me that the person I was supposed to see is in fact not in my network and they have to reschedule me. Mind you this is after I have been there for over 45 mins filling out paperwork and waiting for them to "verify" my insurance when they said they did that when I called to get the apt the first time. I tell them thanks for wasting over 2 hours of my time in the office and the commute both ways and say forget it I will find somewhere else to go that can do there jobs correctly and not waste more of my time. As many many other reviewers say, their scheduling is a mess, but my one star review is specifically because a "doctor" here misdiagnosed a damaged skin barrier as fungal acne... twice. as in, paid for two visits, and he told me he had no idea what was going on and to just keep trying his first guess solution. the "nurse"s suggestion was vaseline. as in, dollar store petrolatum (after i described six months of careful product eliminations). this practice is probably fine if you want your earlobes tightened, but if you have a mystery skin condition, you're much better off googling photos and reading your own research, because these people are inept. read more

Went there for a few years because they were close to my house, but, honestly they suck. You can't ever get a hold of them on the phone. They pushed back my appointment twice. I drove 40 minutes to their office from my new home and had forgotten my insurance card. I had my ex send me over a copy and they said that now they didn't have time to see me. Started coming here a few years ago for annual checkups since skin cancer recently popped up in my family history. I was recommended by my general practitioner and couldn't be happier. Both myself and my husband make sure to schedule our annual appointments here every year. It's close to home and easy to get to. Office is busy, but clean and efficient. Doctors thoroughly go over everything to make sure she doesn't feel or see any spots of concern. Last time I went I had a few skin tags they were able to freeze or burn (I'm not sure what exactly they do) off right there in the office which is convenient. I also had a little problem blemish on my face which wouldn't go away for a good two weeks so she was able to inject some cortisone into it and by the next day it was gone, so that was awesome! Overall this is a great office in the southwest, doctor is very kind and the staff is always very friendly. I believe they also have two other locations around the valley in Henderson and centennial hills, so no matter where you are, there's a few locations to choose from. read more

A close family member had a consultation with Dr. Corbett through Thomas Dermatology and had planned a procedure. Suddenly, 30 minutes before the procedure, the office called. We missed the call initially as we were literally stepping out the door on the way to their office. Keep in mind, we had confirmed the procedure multiple times, placed a deposit, and had every reason to believe the appointment would take place as planned. We called back and it took 10 minutes to finally reach someone, only to be told that Dr. Corbett would be out of the office for the entire month of July. Although this appointment was on 06/27, they unexpectedly wanted to reschedule it to August. There was no explanation of why this was not known earlier and no apology was offered. We cancelled the appointment altogether and called back to express our dissatisfaction with how unprofessional and unethical this was. The medical assistant then stated she was ending the call. Not only had we taken time off from work and stopped certain supplements, but this situation also reflects very poorly on their value of patients. I strongly recommend you go elsewhere. read more

Please read this carefully before scheduling with Thomas Dermatology! I've been a patient there for many years, but after my last appointment in May, I will never go back. The PA Jordan Spoon gave me me two options to treat a basal cell carcinoma that had been previously biopsied.The first option was to reopen the area, which was completely healed and had no signs of concern. The second option was to apply a chemo cream called Aldara. My husband was present with me in the exam room. When I asked her if I should consult with my oncologist, she stated that there's no need to do that and that I would be fine. I have cancer and an autoimmune disease called Sjögren's syndrome. And these details were already in my file. My oncologist said to definitely NOT use this cream. Aldara cream has clear warnings about using it with autoimmune diseases, especially Sjögren's. It has the potential to exacerbate this condition, the risk of worsening the disease and can cause further complications. My medical issues are already challenging enough. Missing this seems careless and incompetent. I tried repeatedly to reach the right person to discuss this matter, but to this day, I've only heard back from a new, inexperienced office manager named Janet. She told me that she doesn't handle these types of issues and couldn't direct me to anyone higher up to speak with. When I asked for a contact number, she stated that she couldn't give out any phone numbers. She promised me a call back from a Henderson based office manager, but that never happened either. It's absolutely appalling that there is no one to contact regarding medical complaints. I ended up getting a second opinion from a well respected and experienced dermatologist. He stated that there's no need to reopen the wound that was already healed, and that the Aldara cream should not be used with my medical conditions. I'm begging you not to go to Thomas Dermatology. If you go here , Do NOT schedule with Manpreet Singh. She is not a Doctor and took a huge chunk of my skin out for a small Basal Carcinoma Cell. She didn't properly numb the area and I was in extensive pain the entire time. She gave me so much lidocaine I was shaking and when I complained of pain, she told me that I could not possibly feel that much pain. 2 weeks after my sutures were removed and I was told all was healed, my inside stitches opened up over a weekend and I wound up in the ER with a huge open wound on my back. I needed to go on Antibiotics to avoid infection and it took about 6 weeks to heal, which greatly impacted a summer trip I had planned for over a year. Each and every thing I ask her to look at she billed a separate copay to unnecessarily increase my cost. It's like ordering Ala cart at a steak house. after the ER visit, I switched To Dr Solimin, who IS an actual doctor. She is fantastic, professional, listens when I Speak and cares for me in the manner you would expect from a doctor. Her medical assistant is equally as impressive with a up beat personality and professionalism. If you are going to Thomas Dermatology you may want to stay away from Manpreet Singh. read more

ZERO STARS!!! This office used to be something to brag about but every since Dr. Thomas has left it is absolutely terrible! My son has been a patient for nine years, literally since the day he was born, Dr. Thomas came to see us in the hospital, and the first couple of years were fantastic I couldn't ask for more out of a dermatology office! Especially given that my son has an extremely rare skin condition which could take a turn for the worst at any moment! Dr. Thomas always made me feel safe and welcome and had no issues addressing my concerns I genuinely felt like he cared! However, now as of the last couple of years since his hiatus, I feel like just a number! There is nothing personable about the interactions with the administrative staff and it almost feels like I'm being read a script! I've been told on numerous occasions by the actual providers if I have any issues, questions, or concerns, I could call or contact the office and they will be happy to try to assist me with getting an answer! Each time I contact them, they've done nothing to help me and just push me out for weeks! Today, for example I was sent into their office by my child's pediatrician due to some changes in his skin that are concerning! When I arrive to the office, the office and parking lot were pretty empty. I asked about my son being seen, and initially the girl kept trying to push me off because she saw that my son has an appointment in about three weeks! I asked her if she could please double check with the doctor to see if they could squeeze him in or at bare minimum let me know if it would be OK for my son to wait. Apparently it was the providers early day and so she was unwilling to squeeze my son in for an appointment! With that being said, I asked if any provider could literally simply put eyes on my sons arms and tell me he can wait until the next appointment, and I was told no that's an office visit and I would still have to wait! At this point, I'm going to add in the fact that my son's condition is called Congenital Melanocytic Nevus. It is a large mole that covers more than 50% of his body. Through my journey, I have learned that moles have a high risk of becoming cancerous, especially, when they are extremely large! I was told by Dr. Thomas that if my son's condition ever took a turn for the worse, I should be concerned because there is not enough skin on his body unaffected by the condition, to remedy an issue if the affected skin becomes a problem! So this is what I'm up against. I've been told by my sons pediatrician that his condition is changing and I need to have it looked at. I walk into my sons dermatology office and was offered no help. And then after I leave the office, (but I was actually in my car calling around to try to get an appointment for my son) the two women at the front desk we're talking about me and didn't expect me to walk back in. I didn't catch the whole conversation, but I most certainly heard one of the girls say " yeah this is not a walk-in type of place" in a snarky manner and when I asked if they if they were talking about me, they both said no, however I was sitting in front of the door in the parking lot the entire time and no one else walked in. Only two patients walked out whom I seen checking out when I was still inside! I don't know about you, but that action is extremely rude and unprofessional. My child's doctor sent me into the office because she had concerns and as a patient I had to sit and listen to the front desk staff talk negatively about me for following my doctors directions and being concerned about the best outcomes for my child! I recommend seeing Tommy Nguyen, he is excellent and caring for your derm needs. As for his medical assistant, she needs to be let go. No personality, didn't smile, tried to joke with her and she was horrible. Think the name was Ashley. If I was her manager and I saw that, she would be let go. People want to come into an office and feel welcomed. As for front desk, they had 5 girls at the front, and two were busy looking at shopping websites, cuz each had two computers, one for schedules and one for online clothing sites. If I come in and I'm upfront and I can see a girl who's back is towards me and a girl on the right who's computer is angled probably because manger sits with glass window facing front desk. Obviously ladies I can see what u are looking at, how about do it at lunch break not at 10am in the morning. And the main front desk girl, I had two insurances, had to tell her 5 times what was primary and what was secondary. It's like she forgot after every time I told her. I want to give 5 stars for Tommy, but the girls bring all the stars down. If that's the managers desk facing the front with glass, how about making sure these girls smile and have a personality, it's the front that every patient sees. Not a win at all. read more
